Shanna I hope you come back to read this

    You asked some important questions

i want to know is this website real
Yes we are quite real. Many of us were JWs for many years, some for most of our lives. Almpst every one of us has been seriously hurt by the policies of the WT organization.
and why are people talking about hiding their names what are they hiding it for shouldnt you be happy that youre studying with the JW and the Jehovah called on you
Some people hide their names because some are still JWs and are afraid they will be reported for being here and expressing some of their concerns about the organization and its policies. Others still have family members in the organization and would like to avoid being shunned because they post here. .
And what's up with all the swearing havent you thought about keeping up good lanquage in case someone visits this site and see that and whats up with the half naked pictures of women whats really going on
Well actually those things do break the forums guidelines and are most often removed by those who watch out for those things. Since this forum welcomes everyone sometimes things here are more accepted than they would be on a strictly JW discussion board. (Those are forbidden too to the JWs but they disobey the policies and have them anyway) I hope you take the time to read what is here. Most of us have given up our families and friends and suffer greatly for the freedom from this controlling "religion". We have no reason to lie because we have already lost everything. Lying certainly won't bring what we have lost back. In fact we work pretty hard to make sure what we say can be proven because we know the org will tell you that we do indeed lie. Personally I think they have much more to gain by lying than we do. Read and learn everything you can before you make this commitment. If we are wrong - you will find it out. If the JWs really are right then you will know for sure. But keep reading bioth sides until you do know for sure.

    Hello Shanna, and welcome!

I don't believe that Jehovah has anything to do with the fact that you started a study of witness doctrine with a witness. As for me, I was not chosen, it was chosen for me by my parents, and I decided after much research that it was not the true religion. I would seriously urge you to do some careful research outside of what your being told during your bible study. Stick around this site and read some experiences of real people- you will find that you are not being given the whole story by your study conductor. You are getting the rose colored glasses view of congregation life. And just so you are prepared, the person you are studying with will tell you that we are all angry apostates here and not to listen to a word we say.

You need to read the bible, not their translation, try a NIV translation. Read some information about the Jehovahs Witnesses not published by them so you can see both sides of the coin and then decide. ALso read some information on what a cult is.

    Be careful

dont let them know you reading something other than their literature they will tell you it is apostate

Just a few words of caution: If you haven't attended an assembly yet, THIS is the place to come to for practical hints that have been tested and approved by many of the people right here on this board.

We can help you with tips and tricks to make your assembly experience more fulfilling such as:

    1. Understanding the One-Towel Rule

    2. How to buy an approved cooler that fits under your seat

    3. How to safely exit after the final prayer amid a maze of people and contribution boxes

    4. Overcoming feelings of guilt when they announce they are in a deficit position and more contributions are needed

    5. Dealing with the dilemma of a "Please Be Seated" and "Keep Moving" sign waved in your face at the same time.

    6. Tips on training your bladder and colon so as not to disturb others during the sessions.

Shanna, hope all works out for the best. We will be here.

Hi Shanna. Yes this is an ex-jw site. I worry sometimes about the things discussed and how it would reflect on someone looking here for the first time for some answers.

My apologize if something has offended you. Many of us know each other so well, it's kind of like talking to family. And some have "warped" senses of humor. Kind of like myself.

People worry about staying anonymas because they still have ties to witness family and friends and do not want to be "cut off" from them for not beleiving the same way. Look around a bit. Read some of our stories. Or we have have frightened you away?

"Apostates" are very good people as well. There's some exceptions, there always are. But you will find some very loving, caring, giving, intelligent people here.

    Shanna,

On this forum, you will be able to see and experience what it is like for individuals to express freedom of thought. Yes, some people may come off as offensive, but that is the nature of diversity.

The feelings, thoughts, and expressions of emotion here are real, genuine. Compare this to your local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, who are taught that the freedom to express individuality is evil.

Please stay here and participate in our discussions. Although you will not agree with everything that is said here, you will discover the joy of being able to express your own thoughts rather than parroting doctrine from the Watchtower. Be your own person, and explore the diversity we have to offer!
