Sweet sally doesn't sound too sweet! Me thinks that she needs to work on the "fruits of the spirit". I guess she can talk to other people like they're dogs, but her "brothers and sisters" in a loving manor... I guess she forgot the commandment to "love thy neighbour". Also, forgot that "all will know my followers if you have love amongst yourselves". Sure doesn't sound very loving to me.

I wonder what would happen if she talked like that to people out in the ministry? She would be counselled and/or reproved. Even witnesses have standards.

Sweet Sally: My reason for singling you out, is you insinuate this harsh judgement on Lady Lee when he husband cheated on her? Typical conditional love that the witnesess have shown to anyone that does not follow on their own moral standard...and morals are subjective, so please... It hurts me when others are judged for doing what they feel is right, when it hurts no one. This type of "love" is all to familiar to me...

    Facts Jehovah’s Witnesses
    WILL NOT TELL YOU
    when calling at your door

    http://www.baptistpillar.com/bd0068.htm

The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, USA, was founded over 100 years ago by Charles Taze Russel, who had no theological training, but adopted the title, "Pastor". His ideas were strange right from the beginning.

Early Watchtower magazines (3/15/13 & 1/15/12 reveal that he believed a person’s desire to worship God was due to the shape of their brain. He believed that if a dog’s head were shaped like a man’s, the dog would think like a man!

He offered health advice too, believing appendicitis and typhoid fever were caused by "biting worms in the colon". He promoted "miracle wheat" at greatly inflated prices. Despite all this, his followers then (and now) believed that he was God’s "faithful and discreet slave" referred to in Matthew 24:45. After his death, his legacy, the Watchtower organization became this sole channel for god in the eyes of its followers.

    JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES BELIEVE & TEACH:

That Jesus Christ (who is Michael the Archangel in their doctrine) its mediator for only a small, elite, group within their ranks called the "anointed remnant". Others must come to this group who control the organization and earn their salvation by absolute obedience to it.

    * all religions except their’s are of Satan, and your Pastor or Priest is under the Devil’s control.

    * the Watchtower Society is the only source of truth on earth today, and all churches teach error and will be destroyed at Armageddon.

    * the cross is a a pagan symbol of sex worship, and that all buildings or persons displaying the cross are likewise pagan. Jehovah’s Witnesses deny that Jesus died on the cross. However, recent "new light" in the Watchtower Magazine now admits they are not certain about the cross, but will continue to deny it anyway.

    * no one goes to heaven but 144,000 Jehovah’ Witnesses, and your soul will be destroyed if you refuse to join their organization.

    * the Christ child was only an "it", not a "He". See the New World Translation, Luke 2:16,17.

    * Jesus was not the Christ (or Messiah) until age 30, even though their own bible says in Luke 2:11,"because there was born to you today a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."

    * after Jesus was buried in the tomb, Jehovah dissolved his body into gasses and it disappeared forever.

    * Jesus rose invisibly in three days, so Jehovah had to "materialize" a fake body for him complete with fake nail prints so His disciples would believe it was really Jesus rise.

    * Armageddon and Christ’s second coming were foretold to happen in 1874, 1914, 1925 and 1975 by this "non-prophet" organization.

    * when Christ failed to show up in 1914 the Society claimed in later years that He had come -invisibly- of course, and all Jehovah’s Witnesses believe this today.

    * Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob etc., were to be back on earth as perfect humans in 1925. The Society built a palatial home for them BUT when the patriarchs failed to show up, the President of the Society moved in.

    * their light gets "brighter and brighter", allowing for the many changes and "about faces" on their doctrines. Yesterday’s error is today’s "truth". Often the "light" bounces back and forth from old to new views and back again! Does real light return to darkness?

    * the Watchtower Society and its followers are all prophets of God today and the Governing Body is directed by angels from God.

    * salvation for Society members consists of doing the good works of selling Watchtower books and magazines and winning converts.

    * soon Jehovah God will become a GRANDFATHER and Jesus will be promoted to "EVERLASTING FATHER"!

*Jehovah God is not omnipresent, but still Almighty. Think! How can this be?

THEY HAVE NOT BEEN TOLD - BY THE LEADERSHIP OF THE SOCIETY...

THAT when they translated their New World Translation of the Bible they deliberately altered almost every scripture on the deity of Christ, to make him only a creature.

    * the Society used a translation by a SPIRIT MEDIUM, Johannes Greber, to support their rendering of John 1:1 with full knowledge that his sources were DEMONIC. Greber was exposed in the Feb. 15/56 W.T. However in 1961 they released a translation based on his occult one, then denied they knew what they were doing on page 32 of the Apr. 1, 1983 Watchtower!

    * none of their "translating committee" knew Biblical Greek or Hebrew. No scholars at all.

*Fred Franz, who for many years headed the Society, perjured himself under oath in Scotland in a court trial, by saying he could read Hebrew, and then failing a simple Hebrew test.

    * The following encyclopedias consider the name "JEHOVAH" to be FALSE: Merits Student Enc.,; Encyclopedia Americana; The Jewish Enc.,; Encyclopedia International, The Interpreters Dictionary of the Bible; The New catholic Enc.,; The Universal Jewish Enc., etc. J.W.’s own "Aid" book admits on pages 884 & 885 that "Jehovah" was first recorded by a Catholic monk about 700 years ago!

    * the date 1874 was taught for Christ’s invisible presence by the Society until 1929. (See their book, "Prophecy", page 65, sold until 1941). Also WT Jan 1, 1924, pg.5.

    * top executives of the Society have admitted under oath that they forced their members to accept false prophecies or face disfellowshipping and be found worthy of death.

    * true salvation is FREE (Eph. 2:8,9), and consists of receiving Christ as your Savior. (John 1:12, John 6:28,29).

    IN SUMMARY

We find the Watchtower Society practicing their belief that it is proper to deceive people. But they say this really isn’t lying. Why? Because the Society has a different definition of lying than most of us. In their book "AID TO BIBLE UNDERSTANDING" under the word "LIE" we read:

"Lying generally involves saying something false to a person who is ENTITLED to know the truth.." While malicious lying is definitely condemned in the Bible, this does not mean that a person is under obligation to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it."

Of course it is the Watchtower leaders that decide WHO deserves to know the truth.

DO YOU DESERVE TO KNOW THE TRUTH?

    What Jehovah's Witnesses

    Don't Tell You http://www.christiancommunitychurch.us/dovenet/jwwhat.htm

The Jehovah's Witnesses began in the middle 1880's under the leadership of their founder Charles Taze Russell. JW's believe God personally set up their Watchtower Society as his visible representative on earth. The believe God only teaches his truths through their denomination. All independent thinking by members is discouraged, and anyone who disobeys the Watchtower's leadership is disfellowshipped. They believe all who are not Jehovah's Witnesses are unable to understand the true meaning of the Bible, and cannot be saved. Here are some of the important facts Jehovah's Witnesses omit when they knock on your door:

What Jehovah's Witnesses Don't Tell You About Charles Russell's Legal Problems

During his lifetime Charles Russell was shown to be a liar and a charlatan. His wife Maria left him in 1897 and the court required Russell to pay alimony. Russell defrauded the public by selling "Miracle Wheat," claiming it would yield five times the amount of other wheat. When the Eagle newspaper published the story, Russell brought a libel suit against the paper asking for $100,000 in damages. He lost the suit.

What Jehovah's Witnesses Don't Tell You About Charles Russell's Lies

The founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses, Charles Taze Russell, claimed to be a Greek scholar, but cross-examination in court proved he did not even know the Greek alphabet. He also finally admitted he knew nothing about Latin or Hebrew, never took any theological training, and had never gone to school for more than seven years.

What Jehovah's Witnesses Don't Tell You About Their NWT Bible

Jehovah's Witnesses lie when they claim they are careful Bible scholars, and that their own New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures is the most accurate and dependable version of the Bible available today. What they do not tell you is all reputable Christian theologians and scholars label the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures as one of the worst ever perversions of the Bible. JWs don't tell you that in the New Testament alone they have rewritten some 300 Bible texts to make them conform to their theological bias. Christian theologians state the New World Translation "is an insult to the Word of God" (Rowley); "a shocking mistranslation" (Mantey); "erroneous, perncious, and reprehensible" (Metzger); "the deliberate distortion of truth by this sect makes it clear that it is intellectually dishonest" (Barclay).

What Jehovah's Witnesses Don't Tell You About Their False Prophecies

Jehovah's Witnesses don't tell you they falsely predicted the end of the world would occur in 1914. When that date failed they revised their prediction and claimed the end of the world would occur in 1918, then in 1925, then in 1941, and then in 1975. Jehovah's Witnesses don't tell you that, in 1925, they built a house in San Diego, California, and deeded it to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- claiming those men would be resurrected that year. JW's don't tell you they taught Jesus had returned secretly toe earth in 1874, and then forty years later changed their minds and claimed Jesus came secretly in 1914 instead. (See False Prophecies Made by the Watchtower Leadership for a more detailed description of their false prophecies).

What Jehovah's Witnesses Don't Tell You About Vaccinations and Blood Transfusions

Jehovah's Witnesses don't tell you that for twenty years they prohibited members from receiving vaccinations saying vaccinations were against the Bible. Then they changed their minds and allowed vaccinations. The same thing happened with their prohibition of blood transfusions: after claiming for years that blood transfusions were against the Bible, a lawsuit in 1998 forced them to change their beliefs and now blood transfusions are permitted. However JWs still prohibit organ transplants. Over the years members who received vaccinations or blood transfusions were disfellowshipped, meaning they are shunned and told they have lost their salvation. (See Jehovah's Witnesses' Teachings About Blood Transfusions, Vaccinations, and Organ Transplants for more details.)

What Jehovah's Witnesses Don't Tell You About Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit

Jehovah's Witnesses consistently contradict the Bible when they tell you they believe God created Jesus and that Jesus later became a god through his good deeds. They rewrote the Bible to make it agree with their errors. What Jehovah's Witnesses don't tell you is that they will not pray to Jesus for forgiveness of sin, nor will they permit you to pray in their presence for fear you might blaspheme God. Jehovah's Witnesses don't tell you that they cannot partake of the Lord's Supper and thus deliberately disobey Christ's commandment in Matthew 26:27 and John 6:53. Nor will they tell you they contradict the Bible by claiming the Holy Spirit is not a Person but is just an "active force" like electricity. (For more information see Is the Holy Spirit a Person?)

What Jehovah's Witnesses Don't Tell You About Churches and Government

Jehovah's Witnesses don't tell you they believe all other churches and governments are under the control of Satan. They do not permit their members to attend other churches or even study other church's books. They will not say the Pledge of Allegiance because they teach this act makes them worship the United States government! And Jehovah's Witnesses will not serve in the Armed Forces (not even as medics), preferring the safety of a jail cell while non-JW men and women fight and die on the battle field in their place to protect freedoms that cost JWs nothing!

Shouldn't these facts be carefully considered by all who think Jehovah's Witnesses are just another group of Bible-believing Christians?

What Jehovah's Witnesses Won't Tell You At The Door

by Gary and Lisa Ferguson (former Jehovah's Witnesses)

B efore you make the decision to become one of Jehovah's Witnesses, please take a moment to consider what your decision will mean for you and your family. Your decision to become one of Jehovah's Witnesses will have a tremendous impact on the rest of your life. All of your beliefs about God and his kingdom will be dictated to you by an organization known as the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. If you choose to believe differently than the Society teaches, you will be guilty of "independent thinking," and will face devastating consequences.

    The Real Gospel

Most importantly, you will not be taught the gospel of the bible. Your new gospel, or good news, will be that Jesus Christ returned to power in 1914 and established his heavenly kingdom. Your new gospel will involve telling people about current world problems and conditions, and how these conditions will eventually culminate with the coming of Armageddon. And finally, your new gospel will consist of telling people that the Watchtower Society is God's only mouthpiece, and that they must obey everything the Society teaches in order to survive Armageddon. However, please know that you will be guilty of spreading the type of gospel the apostle Paul warns about in Galatians 1:8. True Christians teach the gospel found at 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, which clearly teaches the saving gospel that early Christians were proclaiming: that Christ died for our sins, that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day.

    Saying Good-bye

Say good-bye to your current friends who are not Jehovah's Witnesses. As soon as you make the decision to become a Witness, you must give up all or your relationships with those friends, and even family members, who are not Witnesses. They are considered "of the world," and unless you can persuade them to become a Jehovah's Witness, you will eventually be asked to end your association with them. Furthermore, you will be taught that everyone who does not become a Jehovah's Witness will be destroyed at Armageddon.

You and your children will never again have the joy of celebrating a birthday. But birthdays are only one of the many celebrations that you will be unable to enjoy. You will be taught that all holidays are pagan, and therefore, must be avoided. To be a Jehovah's Witness will mean that you must give up all of those celebrations that allow you to get with your family and other loved ones. You will no longer be able to give your mother a hug and say, "Happy Mother's Day." Instead, you must tell her that all honor should go only to God, even though we are told by God to honor our mother and father (Exodus 20:12). You can no longer share in celebrating out Savior's birth, or the excitement of Christmas morning. According to the Society, celebrating Christ's birth is another pagan event and it is not to be acknowledged, despite the fact that even the angels rejoiced at Christ's birth (Luke 2:13,14). The only celebration you will recognize is "The Memorial," of Christ's death. During this memorial, which occurs only once a year, you will not be allowed to partake of the bread and wine unless you are of an elite class of 144,000 Jehovah's Witnesses called the "anointed."

According to the Watchtower Society, Jesus is really Michael the Archangel, and he is not your mediator unless you are one of the 144,000. You will never see Jesus, or go to be with. You will be taught that heaven is reserved only for 144,000 Jehovah's Witnesses who were born before 1935, when the Watchtower Society proclaimed that the doors of heaven had been shut. (See what Jesus says in Matthew 23:13 about those who would close heaven.)

To support their doctrines, the Society will even give you their own version of the Bible, called the New World Translation . You will be told that it is the most accurate bible in the world, but please realize that many scriptures in their bible have been altered to fit their doctrine. For example, compare these verses in their bible with any other bible: John 1:1; John 17:3; Philippians 1:23; Colossians 1: 16; Hebrews 1:8, and many more. Instead of making their doctrines fit the bible, they simply altered the scriptures .

Should an emergency arise and you find yourself or someone in your family in need of a blood transfusion, you must refuse the transfusion and give up your life, if necessary. If your children need a transfusion, you must let them die without it. Countless Witnesses have perished over the past decades in anonymous deaths unseen by the media due to this practice, derived from the Society's erroneous teaching that the Bible supposedly forbids blood transfusions . You will be compelled to defend this doctrine with your life - and that of your Witness family - and view transfusions as defiling as rape, even though the New Testament Scripture used to support their claim it (Acts 15:29) makes no reference to blood transfusions at all.

School won't be a pleasant event for your child. They won't be able to salute the flag, attend school parties, or get involved in any school clubs. You will be taught that all other non-Witness children should be considered as part of the world; and therefore, you must teach your child not to associate with them since they are part of "Babylon" - and fear, rather than love, will become a major factor of their conditioning . Furthermore, you and your children will be discouraged from pursuing a college education is unnecessary since Armageddon is just around the comer. In fact, you will be discouraged from getting any type of extended education, unless it involves learning more Watchtower Society doctrine.

You will lose respect for this country. You will not salute the flag, sing the national anthem or help in time of war. Instead, you will choose to go to prison. You will also be forbidden to vote or hold political office.

Things You Will Never Be Told

There are several things, however, that you indeed will never be told. For example, you will never know that the Watchtower Society has made many false predictions concerning when Armageddon would happen. The Society has clearly taught several dates for Armageddon - 1914, 1918, 1925, 1941, and 1975. All of these "prophecies" proved to be false. The most recent prophetic failure occurred in 1995 when the Watchtower Society was forced to back away from their prophetic teaching that "the generation that saw the events of 1914" would survive to see Armageddon (aged Witnesses from that generation have all largely died off). But how can God's mouthpiece - the Watchtower Society - make mistakes? God doesn't make mistakes. (Please read Deuteronomy 18:21-22.) You will never be told that the Society built a house in San Diego, called Beth Sarim , which was to be given to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when they returned to the earth in 1925 - as the Society taught.

And finally, you will never be told that your decision to become a Jehovah's Witness may have devastating consequences on your family, friendships, and mental well-being. As mentioned previously, being a Witness will mean that you are only allowed to closely associate with other Witness friends and family. Should you disagree with the Society, or leave the organization, you will be "disfellowshipped." As a result, you will be cut off from all of your close relationships. Those who you once thought were your friends will suddenly turn their backs on you and will sever their fellowship with you. You will be isolated and alone unless you " come to your senses" and come back to the organization. In other words, their is no honorable way to leave the organization once you have made the decision to become a Jehovah's Witness. You can remain a Witness and be forced to believe things you really don't believe, or you can leave the organization and lose many of your closest relationships and loved ones.

    Make The Right Decision

Please carefully consider whether you really want to become a Jehovah's Witness. If you think that following the teachings of the Watchtower Society will improve your relationship with God, please consider what the apostle Peter said to Jesus in John 6:68, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life." Peter did not say that the Watchtower Society had the words of life. He said only Jesus has the words of life.

T'he apostle Paul said "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Jehovah's Witnesses will tell you that your salvation depends upon taking in knowledge. But the Bible says your salvation depends upon your willingness to come to Jesus (John 5:39, 40; John 6:45; Acts 4:12; and I John 5:1 1, 12).

Please make the right decision, come to Jesus for your salvation, not to the Watchtower Society.

Some of you seem very comfortable enforcing your own opinions - I wonder where you?ve picked up that habit?

I don?t understand what the deal is here. Would someone please explain?

Some of you seem to be holding onto JW beliefs, in which case you know as well as I do, you shouldn?t have anything to do with a site like this. And then there are others that give weight to what the organisation says about ex-JW?s, that being they have nothing nice, or constructive to say.

    Surely neither is beneficial!?!?

woodland, a lot of people here are very emotional about what the WTBS has done to them. A lot that is said here are coming from peoples hearts, but still true. The JW's can claim all they want about so-called "apostates" but I will have to disagree about what we say here gives weight to them, in fact, it does not. If you could please quote someone and refute it, that would be helpful, as I can not tell what you are talking about. Thanks!
