avenger, maybe you could actually read Shannas post and a little light would go off in your head. does not www.watchtower.org now seem more appropriate to her?

That site is not appropriate for anyone. It would be nice to hack into it and totally wipe it off the internet. That hacker has my blessings and would be doing the whole world a favor.

    Welcome !

A little add : Shana as a woman ... Ooops ... you should think twice before to get into this cult ...
If you have kids ... Ooops ... think twice again before to screw their childwood for good (you can't go back on this - when it's too late it's too late)

It is always good to see and research for yourself (both sides) remember that as a christian you have to : Phil 1: 10 and 1 Thes 5:21 (cause they forget to remind you that when it is about their teaching - and wrong "lights" over the years and HOW THEY DO NOT PROTECT OUR CHILDRENS AT ALL* !!! and realise how they protect pedophils to protect God from scandales (do you think God do agree with that ? and most of all do you think God need help to protect himself ? and realised once and for all that there is an organisation/society/business behind that and that it is the only reason why they are reacting like that)

Save your kids, life, time and money any way ...

Please whatever you do stay a human being, you'll realised after a while how insensitive they are even good people (but brainwashed just realised how you are studying not thinking). And keep your objectity : what is bad is bad, what is wrong is wrong, and what is bullshit is bullshit (for this last statement I'm talking about their "spiritual paradise" : bullshit and to me the word is not strong enough) !!!

Some people here had even lost a child nor screw an entire life (they have the right to be mad !!!)

    Take care

    Shana,

I was raised as a JW and was in the religion for 26 years until 1997. At that time my husband left my children and I for another woman. Yes, he was a JW and is still an active JW. The elders did nothing to him for that action. However, I became inactive and no longer wanted to be in the religion due to false information I obtained from the Watchtower Organization for 26 years and also for other reasons. Anyway, I was disfellowshipped in 1999 for having my daughter out of "wedlock". This came after the fact that the elders or the congregation did not care enough to even check on my children and I (not even a phone call) from 1997-1999. They only came to my place of employment to tell me that I would be disfellowshipped for being pregnant and not married.

My family, parents, my 4 siblings and their spouses(also neices and nephews), shun me. Also, every JW shuns me. I have learned to live with this and I have other threads on this issue. I would just hate for anyone else to go through such emotional pain.

I agree with EVERY post I have seen on this thread. Especially, you should investigate inside and outside the religion and then come up with your decision. You are an adult with your own mind and can draw your own conclusions.

Also WELCOME to this site. This site has been a great support for me and I think that you will enjoy the threads and conversations here.

laylaluv: what did you expect??? couldn't you have stayed in the cong. even if your husband left? does personal responsibilty have no place in your life? surely you knew having sex out of marriage had it's consequences. get real!!!!

    Hi Shana,

You understand that posting what you posted is enough to get a baptized JW DF and shuned, don't you?

Some religions have questions they can't answer some religions have questions you can't ask. Why not read more and see which category the WT falls into.

Luna, thanks! I spent the better part of an hour looking for a good list of cult qualities and I think I found a decent one. It's scary that almost all cult websites list the JW's as one. ACK!

"Sweet" Sally, I was in chat with Jgnat and Shanna and a few others and everyone was indeed very kind and helpful. If you came into chat we'd extend the same hospitality as well.
