Oh yes indeed. I was blessed with TIME. Time to hug my dogs,snake,llama, cats,geese,ducks,andswan. have a beer w/ new friends at school. NOT to wear dresses everyday... jeans and boots and tons of earrings. Not to worry about the F*&&^& word, because no one I was around was offended by its use. Oh WE were blessed with lazy sunday mornings together...

oh yes.. thank you Panda. I can't believe I have forgotten to appreciate that! Time to come home on old meeting nights and relax... not stress about guilt for not attending...........same with Sat and Sun mornings.. not needing to use my time for service or meetings!

Personally I have been most blessed with unconditional love. I have found new family that may not be related by blood, but have a much deeper bond and for much longer. I have found new friends that can I can communicate with freely, talk about deep things with, question authority with, or just hang out. Friends that have accepted me and stayed with me through life-changing events. I have been blessed with a partner who I love very much, a son who is a close friend. Mostly I have been blessed with a new type of spirituality that embodies love. One that doesn't label me a sinner or ask me to repent or grovel to be blessed, and one that doesn't require me to die to have peace, serenity or even bliss.

I'm blessed to live in a place where I can see the bald eagles, osprey and blue herons fly by my office window. Where I can be in the high mountains, near a river, or at the ocean in a matter of an hour or so. I'm blessed with enough to eat each day and a roof over my head. (Just yesterday I saw a homeless person sleeping on the street and that came to mind how often I take that for granted.)

There are FAR too many to count.

What on earth do you mean by "blessing"??? Blessing?? It sounds like you still got a bit-o-dub in you yet, Mini.

There are many ex-dubs who still believe in god........so 'a blessing' has nothing to do with thinking as a dub. I believe in a creator........but as for personal blessings this creator gives out.....I'm not so sure about.

- Losing my virginity
- Listening to any music I want
- Being in many musical projects
- Improving my personality
- More time to do the things I love
- Depression is slowly leaving me
- I can now make jokes about Jehovah's people, Paradise Erf, the word "Theocratic", etc
- I'm no longer an outcast
- I can masturbate without guilt
- No more councelling
- Halloween

Top of list would be my wife and three kids; the icing on the cake, so to speak. Never would have even looked her way if I was still a good JW boy ( and really, what would she have wanted with a geeky pioneer anyway?)

Alot.

I can pursue the career I want to pursue without having to worry about what people in the congregation will think of it. I can study anything I want without having to feel guilty. I can read fantasy novels and Harry Potter books without having to feel guilty.

I can meditate without having to wonder whether the devil might possess me. I can associate with everyday people without having an us vs. them mentality. I can think for myself.

Knowing that the majority of the world's population is not going to be murdered by a psychotic tribal diety hell bent on getting everone to do things his way and honor his name.

There are still some problems in my life that have to weeded out, but I have more confidence than I did before.

Heather! that was so wonderful> Thanks ! Blessings for me? Oh so many....I can drive my car( I wasnt allowed to drive when my hubby lived( I was a submissive wife ) By the way it is a 200 Mazda protage(sP) Learned to drive when he died. I lost three kids in death & one to the WT-I have SO MANY now who call me MUM, Granny< Nanny, I have not a few>>> but LOADS!!! to many to count..I receive a pension from the Old Age Pension which helps pays the rent( as I had no insurance the Big A was coming I didnt need it.) I love a very dear Man... And when I have a support group they all come & help this old brod....I get free medication- free hospital care- Live in a lovely little Seniors Apt. With the birds ,squirrels, rabbits flitting out side my window. .I get up EVERY MORNING & pray "Thank you for saying "it is Finished Lord"I dont have to "work" any more by knocking on doors.Yes ! I know so many of you are still in rotton jobs etc Unhappy marriages ! But I now believe better times are coming.....Only because I do believe in a Creator -who I believe is Jesus Christ ( laying flat on the floor so your rocks wont hit me LOL)
