okay...for some reason, after reading this whole thread, all I can think about is a scene from My Cousin Vinnie.

Joe Pesci is interrogating a witness that claims to have been able to cook grits 15 minutes quicker than possible.

Joe Pesci looks at him and says: "Are you saying, sir, that the law of physics cease to exist on your stove?"

Don't know why...just popped in my head...sigh....I guess the connection for my warped mind is this: they guy saw right away that there was no way he was right because there was physical proof that grits take a certain time to cook. To me, there is plenty of proof that the god in the bible that was written by MAN shows their god as a very very conditional loving, egomaniacal being. Not really a god of love, but a more like a slave owner......how anyone that actually reads the WHOLE bible can describe the god of that bible as a loving Fatherly figure is beyond me. Any good father will love his children UNCONDITIONALLY.

AAF. So, we were always told how bad baal worship was. Because they sacrificed children, babies. Actually, I think it was moloch, but I digress. There was even a tast drawing in the paradise book that reall f-ed me up as a child of that very thing. The Israelites killed them becasue they killed their children. Yet, in other campaigns, the israelites were commanded by God to kill all the male infants by bashing there heads against rocks. Pharoh=bad, Herod=bad for this same thing.

So, I ask you, what is the difference between moloch & Yahweh, they both asked for human sacrifice, Isaac, Jesus, etc. Jehovah sacrificed all of his children for a cosmic bar bet with Satan, i.e. "Universal Sovreignty". Not just dying, but dying painfully as well. At least Molochs sacrifices were probably quick & relatively painless. What is the difference? They're both early sumerian/akkadian gods w/ similar attributes. Tell me what the differnce is, paraphrase scripture for examples if you REALLY need them, but I want to hear YOUR thoughts about it, because I see virtually NO difference in the crap the JW's put out & what you have to say. The only difference i see is that you disagree with shunning. Admirable, but otherwise you might as well be another JW apologist like sword of jah, albeit a MUCH kinder one. Who agrees with the homicidal & genocidal bible god. From a book that has been twisted & had several things removed.

To show how bad they were, the Jewish god of war killed them and their children because they were killing their children.

So let me get this right. God assigned them, ...then immediately they taugh erronious doctrine and false prophecy right off the bat, then skip about 70 more years of false prophecying to the year 1952 or so, and god gives these false prophet, wrong dogma servants of his....the privledge of producing the only true bible on the planet. Do you REALLY believe this?

You don't know how much I hate looking up anything in that book of fables but here are a couple from Gen: 38:
