Avishai, I see nothing "fishy" in Sassy's question. I imagine a former mod, who was fairly diligent at monitoring a JW board, might be curious to find out how somebody managed to slip through the cracks. I also notice as posters migrate between the boards, others are indeed curious to know what name they posted under elsewhere. I see it as natural curiosity.

I have actually conversed with several 'old members' of JW boards I was on.. I've been enjoying getting to know them now.. They have one more thing in common with me here..
and curiosity about someone slipping thorugh the cracks.. I sure am.. One owner I used to argue with about people. She was always thinking some people were apostate and wanting to kick them off.. ironically a couple she was right about that she never had enough info to bann them with.. I get a kick out of learning that now.. even if she was right and I was wrong..
I sure as hell am not going to tell her.

avishai... if you've followed Sally's posts, you'll see that she's posted quite a bit about it. (Including what their methods were, and hints on how not to get caught.) In a nutshell, the biggest mistake that people made was to post here at JWD indicating what they were posting at the Witness site. Once they did that, it was very easy to figure out who they were.
I guess Sassy can go into more detail if she wants to, but like I said, she's posted quite a bit about it already.

No offens intended, Sassy. It's just the idea of a "spy" who's out there to "tell on people" fascinates me.
I never intended to "tell' on people either. I even knew about friends that were posting here (and still do) who were no longer on the JW boards and were 'out' but fading. I never once went to 'tell' on them so as to get them in trouble with the elders.
The only reason "I" came here was when we were having trouble with people on the JW boards who were having fun but not with the intent to be a JW. None of them ever caused any harm. Looking back it was that 'fear' mentality of "if you get too close" Jehovah won't protect you and demons will enter your mind.. or something.. who knows.. but the scare tactic of fear because we were told to stay FAR from apostates.. so when they came on the boards, we just watched to make sure who was bragging here and closed the accounts.. Don't get me wrong, the owner at one of the sites, at time got real angry (and unchristian) in some of her email replies to some. I thought it was inappropriate and I know it only served to make it more of a game to them.. so she never won any battles.. but she thought she did.. She always said she WON against the apostates........over and over.. she even posted it to the members.. Any way.. as I said.. I only came to figure out who it was and then close their account. Never to 'tell".. and I sure never posted a public warning to people about them..
As Euph said.. I have said quite a bit about what I did.. so a check of some of my post history will tell you some things...
Ironically.. that owner who I mentioned above.. has been trying to cause problems for me for being on this board now.. she seeks to have my cong information and 'turn me in'..
And the last personal contact I had with her was to give her a wedding present.. never did her any harm..but she seeks to have me dfd.. for no longer believing..

Well, no, I do recall that I certainly did not do such a thing, well not in my presence anyhow.... and no-one under my roof did either, to the best of my recollection .... and the records will support my belief that nothing of the sort happened, it's on file that nothing happened of the nature you describe, the records are very specific about that...
I t's my understanding that if anything like that might have happened, it wasn't me - or can't be proved to be me which amounts to the same thing really... although there might in some quarters be some suggestion that there may be some sort of event that may have been similar to what has been described which would have been perpetrated with skill and guile and with a degree of subtlety that our JW-only site moderator seems to deny could occur, still the record and my recollection speak in unison and full agreement...
