It's postings like this one that make me extremely thankful for a few things.
- We started business casual and even that is dressed up for here
- People who dress up like east coasters are considered pretensious
- Being a lesbian who doesn't have to live up to what a man's image of sexy is
- Being able to wear comfortable footwear, if it doesn't feel good the first time I put it on I don't wear it. (see number 3)
- Life is way too short and there are many more important things than looking like twiggy
The stores of choice for Seattle-ites:
Eddie Bauer
REI
ColumbiaI used to shop at Nordstroms and now when I go in there I can't stand it. I got a gift certificate for Nordy's from my boss for Christmas and yesterday went in to try to spend it. I got a new bra, thats one thing I'll give them, the foundations there are wonderful.

OK Frannie Thanks http://members.shaw.ca/leemarsh/dresses.html
k, Lee....I vote for the bottom one....and pray for snow.. A pretty corsage could "tie in" the jacket with the dress..... Also, if you're not completely satisfied with the jacket, you might consider a pretty shawl as an alternative....call around to Penney's, Nordstrom's, Dillards, Macy's or whatever dept stores carry women's clothing there and ask if they carry shawls and what colors and fabrics they're made of....you might be surprised...

Good for yall!

An ounce of pretention is worth a pound of manure down here in the South, too, chere....
Being a lesbian who doesn't have to live up to what a man's image of sexy is
Any woman who feels she must live up to someone else's image of sexy is self-assuredly-challenged...heh
Being able to wear comfortable footwear, if it doesn't feel good the first time I put it on I don't wear it.
Everybody say "AMEN!"
Life is way too short and there are many more important things than looking like twiggy
I totally agree, Gretchen....but there sure are a lot of buttheads out there in the world who are unconvinced....

hehehe Hubby likes that one too.
I've tried all the dept stores here and no one seems to be carring shawls this year.
And I tried looking for some material to make one but couldn't find what I wanted.
I do like the jacket and just hope it isn't too much sparlke. Can't out-sparkel the bride you know.

Lee, check out women's catalog sales online....enter the words "women's shawls" or just "shawls" and Google it...see what you come up with....if it doesn't pan out, be reassured that you won't out-sparkle the bride in your darker colored outfit, chere

I admit I like the pointy toes and the higher the heel the better.
The one popular style out now that I cannot stand is the shirts with the huge bell sleeves. Ugh! Those do no look attractive on anyone.

I remember those bell sleeves from years ago - stupid things. You can't do anything without them getting in the way. I tell ya spaghetti sauce on your sleeves is not cool

High 5's, ESTEE! All fashion designers of shoes should be forced to wear their own designs....in a half size too small!
