Whilst in Italy in October, I ran across these. I'm sure they would scruch up those toes, but damn! both the shoes and the thigh-high boots are sexy. I'm sure the right occasion would outweight the suffering of the toes for an evening! globetrotter
Globetrotter, they would look lovely on you but not unless you shave your legs first. Don't forget to shave the hair off the tops of your feet and toes as well.
I admit I like the pointy toes and the higher the heel the better. Tina
When you get a few more years behind you, I want to hear what your feet prefer then. When I was in my early 20s I remember thinking I would never say this: comfort is more important than chic or height to me now. Older feet are not so forgiving.
I get tired of Lane Bryant thinking all voluptuous women are 6 ft. tall. I get tired of bras not being tall enough on the sides. Bras opening in the back? Probably a man designs most of them.
I get tired of pants that fit in the backside but are way too big in the thighs. Do they think a round, full bottom also means giant thighs? Not for this chick they don't.
Why is it men are designing fashion anyway? They don't care whether clothes are comfortable for women and they want us all to be tall, thin & boney with no curves. We aren't men! Design for real women not super models who look like David Bowie. I love David but he's a man and well women aren't men afterall. Edited to add: cross dressers do not count.
OK I know I'm not the only one with this problem - in-between sizes.
Right now I am at the top of regular sizes and the bottom of plus sizes. And for some odd reasons stores either don't stock very much of this or they sell out real fast.It seems no matter what size I am (and I've been through a few) I can never find the size I want.
Bras are hardly ever in my size. I wear a 40 DD. Well seems you can be a 40 D or a 42 DD but a 40DD is non-existent.
I wear a size 10 shoe. You think I'm the only one who does? The stores seems to think so!
I have long legs. Pants are often too short but if I go to Tall girls everything is - yup - too tall.
And what's with all these crop tops? I hate showing my middle.
Think I might have to go back to sewing again too.
You sound like you might need to shop on the Island of the Amazon women. You sound tall and stacked. But seriously, they say most women are like the19 70s size 14-16.Sizes today have changed and that is more like a 7 or 9. You may be average in that way but then you sound above average in other areas. I bet the guys like that, though and you certainly don't sound like the David Bowie type tall girl. Good for you! Blow those skinny fashion models away, girl.
Lee- I vote for the last one too ! It's very pretty and I can see why your hubby would like it too Go for it hon !!! And have a really good time -on wheels or whatever you do !!
I can't complain about the "needle nose shoes" I love them. And now with my ankle all messed up I'm much more comfortable walking for extended periods of time in my boots than in a flat shoe-go figure eh? It forces an arch in my foot that breaking my fibula took away I guess.
Neat thread Frannie !!!!
edited cuz I had the wrong author -sorry Frannie !!!!!!
Shoes - Birkenstocks! (but not for dressy...not that I ever dress up much)
My clothing rant is that they think large women's clothing can just be the same dimensions as small women's only larger!
The neckline and the arm holes (on sleeveless tops) don't need to be that big!! I have an awful time finding tanks or sleeveless tops (I live in Phoenix, remember - we need sleeveless!) that don't show the whole side of my bra!
And I hate tops that fit but the neckline is too big...I have miles of cleavage (well, close) and I hate being paranoid that if I lean over the top hangs open so much you can see way more than you want to see!!! People might be scarred!
I have to admit they are getting better at big and beautiful clothes for some of us but there is definite room for improvement.
I think one of the problems for larger sizes is that at the larger sizes we can be shaped so differently. Some people carry all the weight in the torso and have small appendages while others carry it all over.
And to be honest I feel bad for the petit ladies who have to have everything taken in or shortened.
One new problem I am finding is pants that look good either standing or sitting. Being in a chair more often when I go out I am noticing this more.
