Seems to me part of the wts philosophy is adhering to dates. They seem to have this morbid "need" to live in fear of the coming of Armaboggin. A date to live for. This "date" thing has been with the borg since its inception, has it not...? Why don't people on the "inside" see that their borg date prophecies are all bogus ... a false prophet(s) is/are in their midst ...and stone him/them already ...?

What's ironic is my mother missed the meeting yesterday. My brother coming into town was more important than studying the new light.
It really doesn't seem that long ago (July of 1979) when the centennial edition of The Watchtower was crowing about how they had faithfully kept on the watch and sounded the warning for 100 years.
By the "Noah's Day" 120 year reckoning I suppose that Armageddon invisibly came in 1999 and no one noticed.
Makes you wonder.......
If they can arbitrarily move the start point 35 years forward to 1914, what's to stop them from moving it forward again as 2034 approaches and events (once again) do not unfold as they expect.
Someone tell me JW's aren't this stupid! I'd like to have more faith in my fellow man than that.......

ESTEE, The reason they can't see, is they are not like you and I. We can't NOT see. At least on that subject . . . .
The WT GB are not stupid enough to come out directly and say that 2034 is the end of the system of things. Just like the 1975 date they will imply the date with coded messages in their magazines. LIike good dubs, the rank and file dubs will pick up on this and soon it will be gospel truth. Then after 2034 comes and goes without the big A, the GB can turn around and say they didn't predict that date. Anyone that after speaks out against the WT because of the false prophecies will be labeled as apostates and DF. Then the cycles starts all over again. Like we have said here numerous times, the WT is nothing but a publishing company under the guise of a religion.

TD, You know the start of the time of the end was 1799. That's like . . . . . Two hundred and five years ago. So the generation concept has been stretched to a very good length.
Isn't it kind of easy to be rather creative when you are dealing with fantasy? Or am I missing something? GaryB
