Well that does it for me!!! I'm going back to the bOrg!!!
you never know, the WTS may be right. i might go back to meetings now i have a date to work to.
Because I was wondering how this was going to be handled I visited one congregation and checked on two others. Not one word was said about this 2034 business, and I mean not one word. I think some people here are being infected by real wishful thinking, there's enough wrong in the Witness world without making things up.
Pork Chop, how come you didn't raise your hand and bring it up. (smile)
I wonder what people said privately. It's too early yet. Wait until 2025, nine years in advance when the last of the GB are dying. Didn't they say that the end had to come while there were yet anointed alive on earth?
Blondie
Blondie I thought about it but it would have been too much of a sucker punch. I did ask a couple of people if they thought there was anything being implied and both of them said you'd have to be a real idiot to think that. I really think this thing has been vastly overblown in discussion here. And I agree, 2034 is way too far out.
Blondie --- I thought revelation stated that the end of the world wouldn't happen until the last of the kingly class were killed by the ax . I know previously in the new testament the apostle paul mentioned being transformed in a twinkling of an eye but that may only have applied to early christians . I also know that the WTBTS states that meeting the lord in the air does not mean a rapture but that people will meet him while still on earth . It's very confusing .
Eh, heathen, I know there are other ideas. I just state what the WTS says but that doesn't mean I buy it personally. I once toyed with the idea of writing the Society if the Marriage of the Bride of Christ was going to take place before or after the last of the anointed died and went to heaven. (PS Pistoff, I am not taking 2034 too serious, just tongue in cheek. It is way to soon for the WTS to be revving up for 2034, but planting seeds to water later, maybe (smile)

w98 10/15 p. 22 A Jerusalem True to Its Name ***The destruction of false religion will mark the first phase of the coming great tribulation. (Matthew 24:21, 22) Ahead of us too is a truly momentous event?the heavenly marriage of the Lord Jesus Christ to his bride of 144,000 citizens of "New Jerusalem." (Revelation 19:7; 21:2) We cannot say exactly when that climactic union will be completed, but it certainly will be a joyous event.?See The Watchtower, August 15, 1990, pages 30-1.

w88 12/15 p. 23 "Fear God and Give Him Glory" ***The execution of Babylon the Great comes, therefore, as a righteous judgment from Jehovah. In appreciation of this, ?Hallelujahs? ring forth, in heaven and then on earth, attributing salvation, glory, and power to Jehovah. These choruses of "Praise Jah, you people!" express great joy over the eternal destruction of the great harlot. How her devastation contrasts with a most happy event in heaven?the marriage of the Lamb, Christ Jesus, and his bride, the 144,000 faithful overcomers! A thunderous song of praise is raised to "Jehovah our God, the Almighty," yes, "let us rejoice and be overjoyed, and let us give him the glory, because the marriage of the Lamb has arrived and his wife has prepared herself"!?Revelation 19:1-10.

However, before that celestial marriage takes place, vision 13 shows how the issue involving Jehovah?s sovereignty is settled. His King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus, accompanied by hosts of angels, "judges and carries on war in righteousness," treading the winepress of the anger of the wrath of God the Almighty. Every remaining part of Satan?s earthly system is smashed to pieces, pulverized! (Revelation 19:11-21) As we view that rapidly approaching triumph through the visions of Revelation, surely we have every reason to FEAR GOD AND GIVE HIM GLORY!ahem. That's "do more _'til_ '34"
iono, because right now the GB members (most of them that are actually of the 1914 generation) are roughly 90 years old this year (give or take a few years) i give them another 5-10 before they all keel off, then see whats going to happen....but i gotta hop onto the "do more till '34" bandwagon, thats a good one =D
I'm pretty much spellbound right now.
When I was a dub I always said, "whatever god wants, weather it be tomorrow or 100 years from now..." I mean, PALLEASE! Why didn't I even try to figure out bible fiction from bible fact?
Gary, I enjoy your posts here very much. You think black and white, and sometimes it really opens my eyes thinking that way... they are really a book publishing corporation.
