This is amusing. They are actually talking about 2034 in their meetings now?

I wonder how many people are going to have serious doubts now.
Maybe we should all be excited. Perhaps people are sick of being sick and tired of this garbage spewed from the magazines and stage. Maybe they will realize it is all a bunch of crap. Maybe, just maybe this will be the start of a huge exedus not seen since 1975.
Wow...did someone actually mention 2034 from the platform? I still have a hard time believing that this will be the official stance of the WTS. ("Official" meaning as heavily implied as the 1975 date, anyway...)
they didn't officially say "2034 is going to be the date of armageddon!!!". but they did a lot of hinting around towards it. they said that like moses, we were warned in 1914, then they told us that moses had 120 years, so we have 120 years likewise. its all stated in blondies post more or less. it was just amazing to me though because everyone just KNEW the end was so near..they even said that we've gone 90 years into the 120 year period (more hinting towards the date).
A couple of things:

Someone commented that 30 years is too far out to get the fire under anybody. Complacency would definitely set in!!!
But, that might not be too out of line with a certain strategy: It will allow a lot of current skeptics to die off in the first 10-15 years. Then in the last 10 to 15 years, the heat can be turned up with a fresh batch of "true believers". They can hope that few will be around to bring up the scoffing of the "history repeats itself" crowd.
Also, if this gets a real ground swell of attention, that could really be interesting. A grass roots momentum among the Rank & File could swing back to Brooklyn. They would have to deal with it. A "running ahead" backlash is very possible.
This show would/will be fun to watch.

And in 2914, the WTS will over a 1000 years old and the Catholic Church will be pushing 3000 years!!!
Child abuse will still be ongoing; they will have a shot at some scriptural justification for 2525 along the way; Earth's population will be 100 billion (including space colonies) and JW's will still be a puny .1 %.
Oh, Memorial partakers will still be 8,000!!! And Brooklyn will have been renamed Bethel, by a JW Mayor of NYC. The "Big A" will still be around the corner, but "coming soon".

Did anyone happen to point out that UNLIKE Noah, who supposedly lived during the entire 120 year warning period and beyond, people today do not live for hundreds and hundreds of years?

If people in 1914 waited one-eighth of their expected lifetime, armageddon would have come before 1925.
Instead, we find they have waited more than a lifetime - TEN TIMES LONGER THAN NOAH waited, proportionately - for Watchtower promises to come to pass - and counting, increasing toward infinity.

Nathan,it was not one Governing Body member who made that suggestion but five members including Nathan Knorr! They did not believe that the 1914 date was correct and toyed with the idea that 1957 would be the better date.Overruled!The voting system two-thirds margin won out for keeping 1914.So much for the Holy Spirit's influencing all the members in unity of thought.

2034???? GOODIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that only gives us 30 more years of urgency and a lot more time to save peopel from the imminent gt. Perhaps that will be enough time to save billions of people.
Thanks so much to gds org for this for this extra time. But is no time to relax, there is a lot of work ahead. ADvertize, keep busy in the work, but dont let your guard down statn walks like a roaring lion. Lets use the ltttle time at hand to................
