Little Toe: You prove that reason, intelligence, and strength can go quite nicely with a belief in God. I mean that in the most complimentary way. If and when I do return to a belief, you will have been part of the inspiration. Hope you don't mind that I stole your format of putting the addressee in bold type. It works so well.

Love_Truth, your statement does not come across as relating to a fraction of the total number of unbeleivers... it comes across as relating to a fraction of the population as a whole, comprising all unbelievers. If that's not what you meant, maybe you need to work on your communication skills.

It took me a couple of years on this board to come up with that formula. I should have copyrighted it - now every b*st*rd is using it
Glad to be of help.
If nothing else, it'd be nice to reflect that not every Christian is a foam-specked-fundy.
There is soooooo much variety, it's overwhelming, and IMHO a beautiful thing.Phantom:
That's a relief. Thanks for sharing - LOL -

new light,
If the shoe fits, wear it. 'Nuff said.
LittleToe,
Would that be a minority, majority, or all, do ya thunk???
No idea how to answer that. Is there any way to prove any answer to that?
Phantom,
Obviously Loves_TheSoundOfHisOwnVoice believes in the pissed-off god of the OT and not the hippie-love god of the NT.
Another hypersensitive, presumptuous comment from Phantom Stalker aka Phallacious Squirmer.

The shoe doesn't fit. I don't know why I'm even bothering to type this, but you did not answer the question. If you were not referring to all atheists by "some," then how would you classify the rest?

lol @ Love_Truth. You're either a real kidder or you're dumb as dirt and arrogant to boot. I pray the former.
There is a movie out right now called "Touching the Void", interviewing and showing the story of a man who survived a mountain climbing accident that by all rights should have left him dead several times. I daresay no human has ever endured and overcome more than this man to stay alive; it's truely unbelievable. Speaking of the first of several times when he realized, "this probably means death for me" he said that he'd been raised in a church family, but had since stopped believing in a god. He'd previously wondered to himself what he would do if faced with death, would he be the classic "athiest in a fox-hole"? He said he didn't even give it much thought in that circumstance, so now he knew he "was a true atheist". It's truely a lack-of-faith strengthening movie.
Now then, if you say "there are no atheist in foxy holes"; that I'd have to agree with.
