My thoughts here are not as a result of "media".
My great-grandfather was dressed as a girl and snuck across the russian border strapped to his mothers leg under her hoop skirt. Other relatives of mine were massacred in ghetto's that they were'nt allowed to leave in russia. Others were murdered in Germany, Poland and Hungary. This is'nt media, these are things I've seen for myself. I'm not a jew, but I've had skinheads try to kick my ass anyway for my name and "jewish" appearance. Race or Religion, either one, whether we have tha appearance of being Jewish, or are, we still get shit for it. Ever been called a kike? Been punched for it? one has always difficulties to see the shortcomings of the ones own side and group. in this respect i totally understand your opinion about jewish people and israel. i react similarly if someone attacks austrians.
i have not personally been attacked but my family has also suffered greatly because of the wars. horror did not just happen to jews. 50 to 60 million people were alone killed in the madness of WWII. another 15 million were killed in russia alone by communist terror.
i know this is little comfort but skinheads do attack everyone if they want to pick a fight. they attack people for the wrong haircut, the wrong dressing or without any reason. so do other hooligans.

Hi all. I just wanted to thank everyone who has contributed here. I am a big history buff, and am currently studying the Israel_Palestine issue.
I just finished a book entitled A History Of The Holocaust by Yehuda Bauer. I don't take any authors word for fact, and so it will continue to be an in depth study for me. Over all it is a thoughtfull account of the rise of Zionism and it's connections to modern Israel (mostly the Holocaust Era however), and somewhat heavy on the blame game.
Most notable is the explaination on "what is a Jew"? There are many different sects of Judiaism, just as there are in Protestant Christianity. I was suprised to learn that the Orthodox Jews were very much anti-Zionism. That many Jewish persons are athiest, agnostic, etc!
I think history is very valuable as to understanding evolving thought and custom, but I also feel that alot can change in a generation or two. The here and now must also hold great consideration.
So thanks again for this discussion. Discussion is learning IMO. One liners and innuendo doesn't help much, but in depth discussion of issues is most helpful.

I don't fell sorry for the jews they have been around a long time.
