Scientifically man is perfect we age because we lack enought anti oxidents and we rust to death. The proof is animals like mice age faster than us. If you swapped human genes in a mouse one could petential live 80's years. If you eliminate birth defects or simply abort the defective fetuses which the body is programed to do naturally anyway you can have eden today.

Perfection is eugenics and pharamacology. If we knew the chemical formuals and had mastery over bio engineering building a relatively immortal man is easy. Note most of genesis is myth. Such as animals not eating meat. And the garden was not a natural paradise for all life just humans. So it my have sucked for other speacise or was just as violent or chaotic as the rest of the world but with more accessable food.

Being perfect is just a side effect of "evolution" anything that servives to reproduce is perfect enought. Look a roaches how can you buil a more prefect animal? Long lifespan is the only awnser I can think of and that is kind of easy to do but sadly this technology may take 500 years to being to master and that is expecting a constant increase in knowlege we could hit a dark age and be set back thousands of years.

    Gumby said;

If it entered him. it wasn't there before, so Jehovah put it there. Pretty damn stupid if you ask me

Funny about god, he can be a rascal, act stupid, be the most guilt inspiring s.o.b ever, yet man will somehow twist his actions into some kind of benevolent, paternal figure, who is only acting in our best interests.

If these appologists for god, ever wised up and took a reality check, they would have to admit that the whole 'god' (bible) thing is just as much a wide, yapping cunundrum, as life and death!!!! Simply stated nobody knows for sure, so lets sound like we know what the hell we are talking about............ie A Paduan above........

Gumby you ask some good questions.......

Hope you and your's are well.

I'm takin some shit right now that has anti-oxidents in it! I'm gonna live forever! Yippi!!!!!!!!

Seriously XQ.....I don't thinks it's beyond mans ability to cure aging and death. By the time I'm dead, they'll figure it out. I always get in on the short end of the deal.

Actually the Watchtower does teach this. I believe it's in the Revelation Book. It shows the river coming down watering the trees that give off it's yeild according to season. The leaves are for healing. They represent the kingdom arrangement that will heal the nations.

Gumby, may be you missed my use of the word "literal" (used tongue in cheek to mean "real" actual trees).

Thus the trees mentioned in Revelation 22:2 are literal and that in the new paradise, as people eat the fruit from them, their bodies will become perfect like Adam and Eve's.

Revelation Climax book chap. 43 p. 312 The Resplendent City

But what does John see? This: "And on this side of the river and on that side there were trees of life producing twelve crops of fruit, yielding their fruits each month. And the leaves of the trees were for the curing of the nations." (Revelation 22:2b) These "trees of life" must also picture part of Jehovah?s provision for giving eternal life to obedient mankind.

But now a global Paradise is here, and Jehovah even makes provision through the leaves of those symbolic trees for "the curing of the nations." Far superior to any medicine, herbal or otherwise, that is dispensed today, the soothing application of those symbolic leaves will raise believing mankind to spiritual and bodily perfection.

Those trees, well watered by the river, may additionally picture the 144,000 members of the Lamb?s wife. While on earth these also drink of God?s provision for life through Jesus Christ and are called "big trees of righteousness." (Isaiah 61:1-3; Revelation 21:6) They have already produced much spiritual fruitage to Jehovah?s praise. (Matthew 21:43) And during the Thousand Year Reign, they will have a part in dispensing the ransom provisions that will serve for "the curing of the nations" from sin and death.?Compare 1 John 1:7.

    Dannybear!

I've been thinking on and off of you and was wondering if you would grace us with your presense once again......ya old bastard! Yes.......many believers do as did we when we were dubs. The things we couldn't figure out were overshadowed by all the blessings we thought we recieved from god. We didn't care much about what we didn't understand, we figured it would all come out in the clear someday in paradise/heaven whichever.

Nice to hear from you ol' bud. I've missed ya.

Big manly hug from Gumby( I just HAD to throw in the sheep. I love that little guy)

    Gumbyman,

I see nothing has changed around these parts. I would have expected that you would have learned never to question or even hint that blondie may be error. Barely had time to read your rebutal before she pulled out her cut and paste. Man that woman has a problem. Smile.

Thanks for the shout old sod.

Gentleman, I don't mind my errors being pointed out to me. I was just showing that it was a misunderstanding in what I originally said and that it was said "tongue in cheek" not in seriousness. I was well aware that the WTS teaches the "symbolic" application of that scripture, that is why I deliberately used the word "literal" hoping to add a little fun to my response which was never meant to be taken seriously.

Did we all forget the Tree of Life?

The Watchtower teaching was that at "some point" Jehovah would have allowed Adam and Eve to eat of the tree of life.....no doubt after they kept away from the tree in the middle of the garden long enough to satisfy Jehovah. Had they eaten fro THIS tree, they could have lived forever. That Tree was a pre-requisite for Eternal Life which is why the tree was guarded by two Cherubs with flaming swords at the gardens entrance.

If I had been Adam, I would have sneaked around the back side of the garden, had Eve to a Nasty provocative dance in front of the two Cherubs, then slooooowly creeped in, and grabbed me some of thatasskickin 'live forever fruit' off that tree of life, then ran like hell!

To me what changed was Adams relationship with the Father . As a result, he was not allowed back into the Garden to partake of the ' tree of life'. Had Adam remained faithful, no doubt he would at some point and time partook of it and live forever. This has always been my conclusion based on the turning sword placed at the entrance after the fall. Following that, then the slow deteriation of the physical body took place. This is just speculation but perhaps the fruit on the ' tree of life' contained some enzyme or gene that would cause his body to perfectly repair itself to prevent the deteriation of the once perfect human specimen.

Nice dad eh? I wonder if Adam would have said "I'm sorry dad, I messed up, can you please forgive me"? The guy felt so ashamed he ran and hid himself from his dad so I kinda think he might have said I'm sorry. There is no record of that....only abandonment and a death setence. What a guy!

but perhaps the fruit on the ' tree of life' contained some enzyme or gene that would cause his body to perfectly repair itself to prevent the deteriation of the once perfect human specimen.

That don't fly. He was created PERFECT with no need of any lifesaving fruit. Had he not sinned, why would he need a tree of life? Sin stopped his eternity......not a lack of 'live forever fruit'. The Tree of life is not explained in the scripture as to what supplimental benifit it would provide.
