"There's bullet holes in my windows ... several," (edited), who lives across the street, told reporters.

She also woke up to find a police sniper in her kitchen.

I can't imagine waking to any of this and to have a policeman in your kitchen with a gun, his sole purpose is to kill someone? I'd tell them to get the eff out!

    Sorry, Special !!!

I'm staying put, and it's far enough away that there is no danger. Not to worry!

I just took a look outside, peered down the street. The block is still cordoned off, all three networks are still set up (you know, those hugs trucks they have are there). Last report on the telly was that the standoff continues.

Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers. This baby must survive. I am determined. Keep em coming!

If God is love, my prayers should not be needed to motivate him to act on their behalf...I'm sorry for what they're enduring though!

Just a side point: why do we presume that God must do things our way to show His love?

We wouldn't do that with our own children, would we? Or would we?

Yes, actually. As often as possible. Dude, please tell me you aren't suggesting that god would show his love by allowing this situation to end in disaster.

Our way would be to save lives, protect the innocent, because life is special. Why would god do it any "other" way? He is the originator of life, he HAS the power to stop injustice. I can't think of, and neither can anyone else,........one reason to allow children ....or anyone else to be needlesly killed. God himself said if anyone sheds mans blood, then by man shall his own blood be shed. God doesn't like murder yet he allows it. Doesn't make any sense. I wonder if those little kids are praying? If so......does it REALLY take a bunch more prayers from others to get god to act? Does he even need to be asked to watch his own children?
