I just spoke with one of the RCMP on my way back from the store. Nothing has changed. I told him about y'all, and your responses.
He said
"Prayer is about all we can do right now. Tell your friends to keep up the good work."

Geez, Talesin! How sad and how sick! I will continue to send my prayers for the innocent children in this whole ordeal. And may the parents get the punishment they deserve for putting these children through all this hell.

It's over. The baby is safe.
67 hours after the stand-off began, they walked out. The father's mother had also been in the house. She died during the standoff. It has not been definitively stated how she died, but apparently of natural causes. The government has taken custody of the 5-month old child, and the parents are in custody.

Thanks, the news report said that placement is already in the works, I just hope this child is placed in a loving home, and not with some more crazy relatives or abusive foster parents! arrrggghh

Yes, Granny, apparently she was quite ill. The poor lady, this was most likely the straw that broke the camel's back for her. Then again, who knows? Maybe her son was just continuing the cycle of her abuse, huh? We'll never know. I guess we can't stop these things, we just each need to ensure we do the best we can to not be abusive, and care for the children in our own sphere. Eventually, maybe we can change the world, one person at a time. That is my dream.
