you know sometimes people can say simple things that they should heed themselves. If this is how you truly feel then just about everything you have said (including a large majority of your first post) was not necessary. Stay or go, but you have to know when you come with stuff like your post then people are going to come and take you to task. Otherwise take some time and introduce yourself ancd get to know us. BTW, a I went to the Beverly Hills congregation, what about you?

Most of us were in his shoes at one time or another. lets have a little understanding.
This site is called Jehovahs-Witness Discussion Forum. Nowhere does it say for current JWs only. People from many different faiths & beliefs come there, JW or Not. Because of the JW rule about shunning those who speak negative. we don't have a lot of current JW's here, but there are a few. They probably won't give you their congregation due to fear of losing their "life as they know it."
Also, H. A lot of people were hurt by the JW Org (not just particular individuals in the Org, but the Org itself) so they will have resentment. Many people feel tricked into believing and following the JWs for decades of their lives, decades they can't get back. Its understandable people have resentment to that religion. These aren't insults to you directly. And a final note, try not to act superior to non-JW's. That won't get you far here, or in life for that matter. We arn't poor fools who just cant handling serving Jehovah, some here just made up our mind that JWs are not the true and only religion.

Actually, H. is my last name initial thats all, I don't do drugs, I hate drugs. Also, as for the end, I do not need a date to follow. To you I may look like I am following blindly but if it is looked at that way, then it is no different than the rest of the world just going on about their lives. All I am saying, if you all believe in God, which I am not sure who does but if you do then anyone with any type of pure, clean worship should survive the "great day" by Catholic, Baptist and other religion requirements. Since they really only require for you to be "good" and confess etc. So if I am doing that, being good, confessing my sins in prayer, plus preaching and more, then should I not also survive the last day according to their standards? Of course I know you do not follow any religion, I mean if you do not follow JW, then you certainly are not going to follow a Catholic church and their "building fund." rofl. [joke] Anyways, I have spoke about the whole cult thing to others when they say we are a cult, well if it is a cult to you all, I would rather be a member of this cult than any other one. Bible principles that were shed light upon correctly only helped me. They did not say "go buy Nikes and a jump suit and drink THIS!" Religion will be around forever, it will never be extinct because humans all have that "need" for worship. Every civilization has always started some type of worship, it has been programmed into their mind. Yeah there are people that do not follow any religion, "free minds" but even that is a religion. Most of them are the people that listen to a song or a band and make it a religion. I think the Bible is accurate enough for what we need to do so I do not need to go elsewhere for information. Just like Isaiah 44:18. My insight has proven to me that it is what will keep on giving me strength and knowledge. Remeber that scripture about how the Bible can cut down to the soul? Well this is a reason for me why I only need the Bible and not any external source to add to it. That is why it was written in such a way that it would not be understood by many. Sure some will say that that is harsh but we are only thinking with out pee brain with pee brain thoughts ya know?

Nice to see you here. I was never a JW, so I've been learning a lot of things about the religion... and a lot of things I don't think you are aware of yet.
You are familiar with the verse, "Test all things and hold on to that which is good." (1 Thes 5:21) Perhaps you've even read the verse, " My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck." (Prov. 3:21,22) How is it possible to gamble your whole life (possibly for eternity), and refuse to learn more for making that choice? Would you invest all your life's savings--mere money-- into a stocks company that refused to make a full disclsoure--and forbade its stockholders to read anything critical of the company? It's your money to invest.
Here is the "newbie" thread, copied here especially for you. (Ahem! 3 pages of posts and no newbie thread link?? Wake up, posters!) I give this to you so at least you will know what we are referring to. Also, if you are able to give us some help in understanding these issues better--or have, perhaps misunderstood/made errors in logic--we truly HOPE you will give us the insight we've lacked. If we have been mistaken about any/many/all things concerning the JW religioin, it would be right to hear from someone where we've been mistaken.

When I made the comment about your screen name my tongue was planted firmly in my cheek. I just couldn't resist tying it in with your comment about other people's screen name and I wanted to lighten things up a bit.
I can accept that you feel as strongly as you do. Like I said, I felt that way too. Still, I do hope that you establish your dedication with honest research. It will be invaluable to you. I wish you the best and actually hope that you stay on the forum. Warmest regards.
