    LittleToe,

The "safe-grounders" are possibly stalling the process.

    Now there you go.

It seems like a wild leap to go directly from this:

.....but since there are no queue balls in the atom

    into:

it is nothing more than perception and appearances of a complex system of energy.

Drop an anvil on your foot and tell me if the pain is real, or just your perception or try swallowing a spoon.

Can you explain (or link me to) the testing that shows observation skewing the results? In that regard, until you get down to the quantum level, all normal observation methods continue to work accurately, correct?

Where do you see mysticism converging with or getting on the same page as science?

I sense an almost irritation in your words towards science, that after 80 years, science hasn't figured this quantum physics stuff out yet.

oy vay! Kate inserts foot in mouth or, eats crow, whichever works for you Steve! I was just trying to be light hearted and funny in a serious thread. So you know the person who goes to tell a joke and tells the punchline first.......ME!!

OK Kate, The results of my experiment are in regarding "do silent farts smell?" The answer is Yes, under one, two or both of the following conditions.

I should have asked you why do farts smell? Not silent farts........it totally messes up the punch line! My bad!

So the ball is in your court.........I wouldn't blame you for ignoring me, *snif*,*snif*

Carry on men with all your important scientific talk, solve the worlds problems, please!

    Kate

Both of the above questions are covered thoroughly in the book The Tao of Physics Fritjof Capra
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1570625190/104-5622627-1948705?v=glance

It is a scientific discussion covering most note worthy discoveries in the past century. He points out the limitations of the present scientific approach (experiments being affected by the observer) as well as the possible solution to the approach, and how ancient mystics have been saying for centuries what we are now discovering. (Mystics are not clairvoyants, witches, fortune tellers, or ufo chasers). They simply claim to know things by the ability to transcend the physical) Capra has a noticeable respect for what they have had to say which parallels modern science.

I sense an almost irritation in your words towards science, that after 80 years, science hasn't figured this quantum physics stuff out yet.

No, especially not toward science. Their method of learning is the only sure way to explore the physical universe. Their reluctance to take the leap I speak of is understandable. They have had to recognized that Newtonian physics does not work at the subatomic level. That was hard for them and why they mocked Einstein at first. Now some are reluctantly facing the fact that Descartes too may have to yield in order to understand this.

And try that movie, Mind Walk.
