Why do men "play" dumb?

  I find it amazing that women are able to "multi-task", e.g. clean the floor, iron, wash the dishes, look after the kids and have a telephone conversation all at the same time but are unable to change a fuse or put up a shelf.

  Also, I really don't get how using a VCR can be such a problem when the buttons are usually intuitive, often colour-coded and with symbols that have been standard for decades, whereas using a washing-machine somehow makes perfect sense to them, even though every single model is different, the control mechanism is usually a big dial with 20 or 30 randomly placed cryptograms, and there is no feedback until you take the washing out and everything's pink and/or shrunk.

  And, of course, parallel parking.....

  I'll have you know I parallel park every single day, piece of cake. I installed and set up my computer, not hubby, and I am the only one who does any kind of continued maintenance or software installation, so there! all that other stuff, a mans gotta be good for a thing or two you know.

  bullocks. I put up every shelf, hinge, shingle, knob, tube-thingy and bathroom stuff all alone. changing a fuse is no problem

  So I am here this morning with my octopus arms, making the kids breakfast with one hand, getting them dressed with the other, doing their hair with another hand brushing their teeth with another hand, etc. you get the picture... while my husband sits at the table reading the newspaper. Both kids are complaining of sore throat and have some sort of summer cold, so I asked hime could you please get the medicine and give them some medicine, and what does he do? Nothing. So I ask again, and then he complains "Where is it, I dont know where it is (the medicine he means) so I said "ITS OUTSIDE IN THE MAILBOX WHERE IT GOES!" He is not really that dumb! He's not I know hes not. Then when he managed (I'm just so proud of him) to get it out of the fridge, (where it goes) I asked him to give it to the kids and he didnt know how much to give, so I said "TURN IT AROUND AND READ THE LABEL, LIKE WE'VE BEEN DOING NOW FOR SEVEN YEARS SINCE WE HAD OUR FIRST CHILD!" not that dumb, I know he's not.

  K, I feel waaaay better now.

  Honestly, swear to god!! I NEVER would have thought medicine would be kept in the fridge! I don't have kids either, well, none that I know of at least! It never was kept in a fridge when I was a kid.

  they have syrup for children, tylenol, motrin, cold medicine, all in syrup form, once you open it, you must refrigerate it, or it goes bad.

  funkyderek, things I have done:

  build a shelf, build a large (and heavy) guinea pig cage, but together a futon, put together several desks and chairs, and even a desk that did not have the holes drilled. (my bofriend at the time attempted to drill the holes but stripped the screws in which I took away the tools and did it correctly, myself.) Put together a computer, installed drives, drivers etc. When it comes to cars, sorry I know very little, but talk to me about computers, art, web design, graphic design, dogs, guinea pigs, astronomy and I know my stuff!

  And I am female, but that does not make me special or rare.

  PS: my boyfriend is really great with children and perhaps will be way better with them when we have our own.

  And I can parallel park. My boyfriend can not (well he refuses to anyway...I hate that).
