did you know in Russia they don't have "christmas trees" but fur trees they put up for the New Year, lights and all. And YEP, the JW's can put up a fur tree, its up to their conscience. DOH

I knew they did that in Romania. We had a Romanian immigrant family in our former congregation and they had a family picture in front of their tree back in Romania. They were surprised that we didn't do that. It made us think they were part of that other JW group over there. A reformed Jehovah's witness group. Could be anyway.
Our family has been out of the cult for three years now and had a tree and lights for the last two years we have not heard anything from anyone yet......
I'd say that it's none of their business what goes on in my life.
Mrs. Kwin was putting up our tree when she got a visit today. She turned down the X-mas music, answered the buzzer and said that she was too busy for them to come up to the apartment to visit, then went back to singing the Christmas songs and decorating the tree.

Dave said if they call him on the phone and ask if we have a Christmas tree, he is going to ask that elder if he masturbates. When he is shocked that he would be asked such a personal question, Dave will tell him he won't answer personal questions either.
That's hilarious! I hope Dave uses that one. I'd love to hear them try and respond.
So what's this you say about your JW friend (yes, I know who you're referring to) that can't see you anymore cause her husband won't allow it? I have a hard time seeing that ever happening.
I don't think they will come by your home, but if they do, I'll feel sorry for them once you and Dave have your say. They'll probably wish they never bothered you. Keep us posted and we'll talk with you more this Sunday at the big post-Christmas Apostafest...which I'm not sure what time that is.

When they come say "I have no idea what you are talking about"....then keep it up as they point to it...keep saying "How Dare you acuse me of having a Christmas Tree!" See what they do!

Yes, we have Caller ID, but they can block their ID from showing up. My friend whose husband is an elder, has "Private" showing when she calls me. Lots of people here have that feature.

Some phone companies provide Anonymous Call Rejection. This programs the phone to reject calls from anyone who blocks their phone number -- sometimes called "Block the Blocker." Callers hear an announcement that the subscriber does not accept blocked calls.
Individuals can purchase devices in stores that do the same thing as Anonymous Call Rejection. Instead of allowing the phone to ring, the caller hears a recorded message stating that they must call again without blocking the number.

Hi Rick......she was here this morning.............she will be more careful, but is really fretting over this one. She called me this evening and told me she drove by the house and you cannot see the tree from the street, or the street below our house. So, we know this guy is definitely lying.
I kind of doubt they will come by, so am not concerning myself with it overmuch. (remember that word............good grief, where did I pull that one from?)

There ya go! If that is available I would use it.
Right now when I get a call that does not identify the caller I do not answer and let the voice mail get it.
If someone is too chicken sht to identify himself when contacting me, then I don't think they deserve the privilege of talking to me.
