Can I get an Amen!
The WTBS ideology is so at odds with todays lifestyle that no wonder the kids are leaving in droves. The web coupled with the recent scandals have really helped many young people question the orgs teachings.

My older sister, 20 years, just got baptised.
That's kind of "old" to be getting baptized, isn't it? I bet she was nagged for a good 4 years.
Not for my family, for they aren't "model" JWs (though my mum and my sister try to be). I think it might just be the Lower Mainland area that doesn't pressure people to get baptised young (I've known many elders' kids who get baptised around 17-18 years old).
Yes, in "spiritual paradise," it's the parents who get orphaned.
End of the world? Nope, but this is the Watchtower's last generation - you can count on it.
The Watchtower's last generation!! I like that phrase.
The only sad thing is, some of these kids leave with issues, especially if they are 5th or 4th generation kids. I was 3rd generation and sheesh, I had issues, yet I was 32. My kids were 4th, but they were lucky enough to have me. How would you be if you were a 4th or 5th generation with no one?
My heart goes out to the kids - they need to know they are NOT wicked, they are just ordinary kids wanting some sort of normality.

Metatron is right again.
I've seen the same trend within the small circle of people I knew too. All their kids that "grew up in the troot" hate it with a passion and are leaving in droves. Strike up the band!

" This Jehovah's Witness stuff is making us crazy, Susan !"
News flash: I've just learned that a young girl in my area told her parents that she doesn't want to be a Witness anymore. She had the guts to tell it straight up, unlike most Witness youngsters who prudently decide to fade away quietly. She's about 19, is unemployed and still lives with her parents.
Zek,

Indeed! In this case, she was allowed to stay with her parents, but her mother got sick when she learned of her daugther's decision and is receiving psychiatric help.
Not wanting to "piss on your party" but I have cousins and second cousins that are still JWs who have had kids that are growing up now, and all of them have stayed in the faith.
Just my observation
Not wanting to "piss on your party"
Well, YOU DID! LOL!
But I think 50-75% of the young ones leave. When I was a teenager, 50% of us ended up leaving. And that was WAY before the internet.
