Jan, Jan, Jan, how disappointing. I had seen it alleged here several weeks ago that when someone disagreed with you that your responses became superior, condescending, haughty, and insulting. I frankly didn't believe it. Now from sad experience I see it's true. You know, Jan, a display of specialized knowledge or skill doesn't imply an advanced intellect or a strong character.
True and genuine inward certainty does not in the least fear outward analysis, nor does truth resent honest criticism. Your intolerance is a mask covering up the entertainment of secret doubts as to the accuracy of your knowledge and trueness of your beliefs. No one is at any time disturbed by someone else's attitude when he has perfect confidence in the truth and accuracy of that which he wholeheartedly believes. Courage is the confidence of thoroughgoing honesty about those things which one professes to know or believe. Sincere people are unafraid of the critical examination of their true convictions, and they can tolerate them absent any trace of resentment.
It's really a shame you are unable to engage in a clash of ideas without stooping to the low moral swamp of resorting to insult and name-calling. What good is knowledge absent character?
Your view about the Russian role in WWII is A view of the matter, not THE view of the matter. And if you were in reality half as intelligent as you would have all believe, you'd already know that. Even though you grudgingly admit American histories are good, you fail to admit that history is, after all, a subjective art and there are always differences in presentation depending on the particular axe each author wishes to grind.
However, far from proving your point, the superiority, condescention, and name calling in which you engage proves only your emotional immaturity and lack of intellectual integrity. Too bad. I was sincerely looking forward to an adult intellectual exchange with you. (And I intended on helping you smooth out the rough spots in your use of the English language, too) Now I have to look elsewhere.
