sheesh. don't f with a former waitress like that! i was havin' a heart attack! OMG. Remember when Tiger Woods said in Time mag how he never tips anyone, no matter what? I used to like him... now I think he's a dog doodoo.
Oh yeah, and Jeff Gianola used to come in to my restaurant (local news celeb.) He'd run the waitstaff ragged, pinch bottoms and try to get "hugs," then he'd leave a little over 10%. He was a dog doodoo too.
Dubs are cheapos tho. Read this thread and you're like "yep, thats witnesses for you"

What really sucks, is the employers get away with paying waitstaff such a menial amount, that they rely on tipping. Shame on the employers. I was at an Outback recently and the bartender told me they start waitstaff at about $3.50/hr. That's not right.

I know Brits have been regarded as tight-wads in the US. However, most of us don't realise about the low wages that are paid to waiting staff over there. The minimum hourly wage in the UK is £5.05, that's about $9 per hour.

I don't have a credit card, so I often use a bank-card to pay.
I don't tip automaticly - and when I tip it is around 10% (usual here) and I give the money cash then...
(I only tip when the waiter/waitres is kind and helpfull and the food is what you might expect in a restaurant
I have no problem tipping. It should be done according to the custom of your area. What I do have a problem with is covering this subject during one of Jehovah's teaching sessions. What is wrong with this picture. We're supposed to be in a spiritual paradise but we're too stupid or cheap to follow the local tipping customs? I mean come on!! It's so bad now that the dubs don't even realize what a waste their indoctrination sessions have become.
I've learned more deep spiritual thinking from this board in the last 2 days than I ever did at the hall.
That's just now a suggestion!! Geesh! I never tip less than 18%.
In indiana, miniumu wage is 2.12 for servers.....and yes you work your ass off for EVERY tip....If you work enough hours, your little paltry check might pay your taxes.
And waiting tables is no fun, lemme tell ya (especially when it comes to serving other JWS) I could always tell which ppl were dubs in resteraunts, they are the ones that look like if they had a lump of coal up their butt, they would have a diamond in no time flat.
I never sought out their tables :(
