Hi all,
I have been lurking on this board on and off for a few years. I am an xjw from Victoria, Australia. Faded out a few years ago. So I have been monitoring this board to see what **new light** is emanating from the mighty ones in the FDS. At the moment still trying to catch up with the latest.
Anyway, saw this thread and I thought I'd make my first contribution. After leaving the borg, I looked into other types of spirituality ie. not those having to do with attending church (or any type of halls LOL). Meditation, Kabbalah, witchcraft etc. Thought that the way to true spiritual 'enlightenment' was recognition of a diety, and self empowerment. I still do.
Now to the topic: I had a couple of dreams that came true. One was when I was promoted a couple of years ago. It was, a couple of months before it happened. Here it was winter. But in my dream, I dreamt it was summer, and my boss and the regional manager came to me and offered me a 'contract' that was wrapped in red ribbon. Like when you get presents... Well in December (Summer) it happened. Tho it wasn't the contract wrapped in ribbon.... it was me in the managers office.
The other time was before I met my G/F. I dreamt of her a few weeks prior.
Coincidence? Perhaps Don't know, but that's my 'experience'.
On another matter, but still on the esoteric, I had quite a few dramatic Traot card readings, that I did myself. They came true anywhere from the next day to within a couple of weeks.
So ther may be things we don't quite understand... hmmmm......

explanation 4: time travel is possible. your wife has a time machine. she used it whilst you slept to travel to the future to check on your nephew. she found him dead and came back. (three assumtions).
Well, look at it as a physics question. Time is'nt exacly linear as per einstein. He basically thought it all happens at once, we only view it as linear. Perhaps her "view" of it is just different. Her "view" of time may just not always be "20-20". I love it when people throw out hard and fast judgements on things like this. Every generation for thousands of years has thought they knew it all, scientifically. Hell, a hundred years ago they thought rocks falling from the sky (meteors) were hogwash. So, heck, there may be smething to it!!

great reply abaddon, as always. now noone tell me weed has a negative effect on human brains.
tetrapod, this is an interesting approach, but i'm not sure if it is always applicable. this rule is another version of "the simplest answer usually is the right one" if i understand it correctly. while this is true very often, some things simly are not that simple... however, the more unproven assumptions the less credible, this surely is true.
evilforce, yes it's the matrix. can you get me a red pill? -

Some people have keen perception and may be able to better invision things that are likely to happen, that other people may not. There is not necessarily anything mystical in this.
For example (and not meaning to dismiss the story, but merely posing hypothetical possibilities), perhaps the aunt had previously met the other kid and decided that he was not trustworthy. The nephew may have lived in an area where it is not uncommon for people to get their hands on firearms. There may have been other instances of youths playing russian roulette, or other gun related deaths which may have raised concern. Were the circumstances of the killing definitely the same as in the dream? Were there eyewitnesses? Do the details as they are recalled now accurately reflect the events that took place a number of years ago?
Tomorrow, my phone is going to ring at 11am. I am not going to answer the call. Because it is a bogus 'competition' scam. Psychic? No... And I'm not from Gallifrey either.
Will the red pill interfere with my current medication? -
EvilForce
The red pill is completely safe...biodegradable, no fillers, starch, nor calories.
It may interfere with your perception of reality. But the red pill is the way to go!!! -

Until recently (which is another story entirely) I rarely dreamed. When I did it was usually of two distinct "types" with their own accompanying "sensation". It was either my subconscious working through something and often coming up with a solution for me, or it was the dejavu type.
The first time it happened was eerie. The most recent occasion I mouthed the end of the sentence, with the individual. Since it was not a run-of-the-mill conversation, they were confounded that I knew what they were going to say.
I've also described portions of other's dreams to them, as well as current events in their lives in symbols. This kind of thing used to be commonplace in Scotland. I blame a sceptical age for people ignoring their dreams. Surely if the brain is firing off in a certain way, it's for a reason. We may not know the reason, but that doesn't preclude there being one - we perhaps just lack the imagination to conceptualise a reliable theory. In these kind of situations Occam's Razor can often prove lacking.
In the absence of a scientific explanation, of course people are going to fill in the gaps, ranging from "God telling them something" to their soul travelling in the night in time and place.
I'm taking advantage of a "dark" avatar cycle, to get a few things off my chest, can you tell?

LT - I still find this hard to believe! How much control do you have over this? Can you enter my dreams and tell me about them? then I would be less incredulous. Its not that I think you are making it up, but maybe the people who's dreams you are relating are eager to believe and have remembered wrongly...
and yes am enjoying your dark avatar cycle.
(Are you actually Derren Brown perhaps?)
