The last time I met a JW was........... at the library of all places about 2 years ago
He was a guy I knew in high school, we were very good friends and then he left for Bethel. We met again about 7 years later, he looked great, was working in Phoneix, and was getting married soon. When I saw him, I said his name and he responded by asking "if I was still a JW". I told him I wasn't and asked him if we could meet sometime for coffee. He said we could "meet for field service" which I thought at first was a joke, but he was serious. I gave him my number and he gave me his before we went our separate ways. When I called him later that week I got a different person, I'd hate to think he deliberately gave me a wrong phone number and that I could chalk it up to my clumsy hand - writing, but......
and that's my JW story

Went to Denver the other day...bumped into an old really good Dub "friend"...
she actually approached us, as we have pretty muched stopped trying to initiate anything since being SHUNNED.
Lo and behold...she's SO HAPPY to see us... she just recently left her physically abusive Dub husband (yeah) and was on her own and doing quite well...her new friends (a bunch of gay guys and some new "girlfriends) from work were taking her out for her birthday (she works at Nordstroms) and supporting her in her new independence...she hasn't been to a meeting in a year..and doesn't miss it. Her Dub family is all crying the blues....please come back to J.... AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN... and she did it all on her own!
The funny thing is she said she regretted losing our friendship...but her husband forbid her to have anything to do with us since we were "weak" and the Dub rumor mill had said we were "bad association"...
How ironic... we've got a lot of catching up to do...
How fun is THAT?

On Saturday. At Wal-Mart. Elderly JW couple, looking very frail, solemn and despondent. He is in a wheelchair now. She is hunched over with osteoporosis and consequently several inches shorter than when I last saw her. I was enjoying the afternoon shopping with my children; we were laughing and smiling. Sister™ JW's eyes meet mine. She looks sadly at me and shakes her head in pity. She probably thinks to herself "what a shame that they've thrown away the chance at Living Forever in Paradise™."
They don't know that I know they've just had their District Convention a few weeks ago where they have been informed that they will probably die "this side of Armageddon". I'm smiling that my family and I are free from the WTS's lies and deceptions, yet I shake my head and think to myself "what a shame they've thrown away their whole lives Waiting on Jehovah™ for them to Live Forever in Paradise™."

On Saturday past actually. I was walking out of the mall, when someone who had been a family friend for almost my entire life (she was actually in the maternity ward with my mom, her son was my best friend for years) was walking in. She looked over, our eyes met then she rolled her eyes the other way and kept walking.

Theres one that serves me billy bear ham at Asda, and I saw one out on field service round by me when I was out on a bike ride. I shunned her. I didnt want for her to have to think of nice things to say to me, cos i couldnt think of any nice things to say back.
Before the billy bear ham last dub I met was in my pants after a housewarming party. I helped him leave apparently.

Last summer, I was waiting for the bus downtown. I was hunkered down, listening to some tunes on my MP3 player. I glance left and right, and see 'brother special pioneer' (he and family used to live with us when I was a kid, long story) s-l-o-w-l-y approaching the bus stop, stopping and offering the mags to each person. hehehe,,, I took off my sunglasses, turned off the tunes, and watched him closely.
When he got to me, he didn't even look at my face, just started his ramble. I quickly looked up and into his face, and said "Well X, I'm surprised you would even speak to me, let alone offer me the Witchtower and Asleep!" His face changed when he recognized the voice (horror of horrors!) ,,, he backed up as if he could catch something, and without a word, swiftly walked away.
bwaaaaa hahahaha! I guess he was a little intimidated.
