Did Noahs Ark drift about aimlessly in the Great Flood?

How did YHWH translate to Jehovah?
For the consonants, through latin (in which JHVH is pronounced approximately as English YHWH); for the vowels, through misinterpretation of Masoretic vocalisation pointing to the substitution word ('adonay).
Does Jesus have the same similar Hebrew Script as Jehovah?
Nope. YShW` vs. YHWH.
I think perhaps Yeshua and Yehovah might be more accurate. What do you think?
Yeshua, yes. Yehovah, no.
Did Latin come before the Hebrew language? How therefore can you derive the meaning from Latin? Ark of the covenant means what?
Hebrew for ark of Noah, tevah; for ark of the covenant, arôn; Greek for both, kibôtos.
In Hebrew no connection between the "ark" of Noah and the "ark" of the covenant. No connection between the "ark" of Noah and Ararat either.

1) There is no scripture that I can recall that makes any mention of sails or oars for the ark. On "In Search Of" one time when I was a kid, they built a scale model to the best of their ability and understanding (cubit is not an exact measurement, so they had to guesstimate a bit) and put it in a wave tank just to see if the whole thing would have floated and been seaworthy. It did work, but there were no sails or oars on their model, either.
2) Even in the best of circumstances with an experienced navigator, ships still got lost on a regular basis. The compass and sextant had yet to be invented. Noah was not a sailor, nor were any of his family. Add to that the problem of fighting a storm large enough to supposedly make it rain for 40 straight days. Bear in mind, that in those days there was no such thing as a true ocean going ship, it was centuries before any vessels were constructed that had the ability to sail beyond sight of land.
3) If the land was actually covered over the whole earth-what landmarks would there be? The whole planet would be a worldwide ocean. The only thing to steer by would be the sun, moon, and stars, but you can't see those when it's raining for 40 days. There was no point in keeping any given course, other than perhaps to keep the stern of the boat toward the waves to keep it from being broadsided in the swell and capsizing.
So, if you're a believer, you're left with only one option-god guided the ark, any other method was impossible.
If you're an atheist like me, you pick the whole story apart for all sorts of flaws-I won't go into them in detail here. Besides, RunningMan does a far better job, read his Atheist book of Bible Stories post about this. Just for an example, rain is freshwater, not saltwater, but nobody asks what happened to the fish, they just figure they were ok because it was water. But a true worldwide flood of that much freshwater would have ruined the saline balance of the oceans-ever tried to keep an aquarium? Everything has to be just right, or the fish die.
Note: Over the years there have been unproven claims that the ark was found. Most of them were discredited outright as hoaxes. Some of them have a little more merit, but none of them can be definitively proven. Here is a link to an aerial photo of something called the "Ararat Anomaly"; speculation abounds that it is an imprint in the rock somehow made by the keel of the ark, either by petrification of the wood used, or lava flaw, or whatever.

No Apologies
Trying to explain how Noah's Ark and the Flood happened is like trying to figure out how Santa can get to every kids house in one night.

I think it did according to the account drift aimlessly but also not very far from where it started out at which were the mountains of ararat . When you talk about divine intervention I don't think anything is impossible . The flood account is about a deluge , it didn't just rain for 40 days but the watery canopy emptied to the earth , with however much water that it had . It would be interesting to find out just how much fresh water would be needed to disrupt the ocean wildlife . I think anything we say would be nothing but speculation . What I find interesting is that the scientific community attribute alot of geological changes to an ice age or state it took hundreds of millions of years for the continents to sepperate where as a deluge could easily explain those things as well . I think we did find out how much damage a tsunami could cause here lately and that would be very small compared to the deluge story .

The scientific community isn't involved in some great conspiracy to hide all the evidence of a global flood. There just isn't any.
