How many mistresses can a JW elder have?

Diamondblue1974 - Too right about the elders and their hypocrisy. But if the Watchtower insists that these people are the 'Stars of the congregation' (and expression that always made me want to spit!) then the R and F have no choice, or at least non that they're aware of but to believe the WTBTS. They hold the R and F's eternal lives in their hands and regularly dangle this in front of their victims before beating them into submission again.

This particular elder was not far off worshipped because of his charismatic character. You can sell towels for a living, have a wife and two mistresses, have people suspecting this is the case and still get away with it.

I do remember the father of one of his mistresses giving a talk saying that if a 'brother' claims he can jump over a house, you MUST believe him, as he is your christian brother...until it is proved once and for all that he can't. I then understood why he never would believe anything bad about the elder with the mistresses. He was already choosing to be a gullible fool. (It seems this view was not extended to sisters or children, as it was several sisters who claimed that the bad ass elder was having several affairs!)

AK - Jeff - Doesn't it make you wonder how any JW would have time for all this sex with so many people. Do they now bother with, wining, dining and foreplay?

The Watch Tower Corporation is a media manufacturing company. The Jehovah's Witness people are unpaid workers who support the Watch Tower Media Corporation. Everything else is hype.

People are people, Catholic Priest, JW Elder, President of the United States. People are people and they will do seedy, immoral, whacked out stuff, it doesn't matter what they profess to be or what their station is in life. Cops are thieves, 10% of the physicians in the US are addicts, teachers molest students, the list just goes on and on. Many human beings are weak, slimy, and just plain no good.

    Watchtower relation-s**ts

Danny Haszard coined the phrase the trifecta of the THREE "P's" and they are Power + Prestige + Pu**y the driving force in the Jehovah's Witnesss.

One of the perks of eldership is robbing the cradle, all you young babes who married for prestige (cause jehover gonna make him young again in 6 months) get ready to change daddy's diapers.

My gawd, when i was 27 i seriously contemplated marrying (enabling) a sweet pioneer sister who was 45 indoctrinated that she would never grow old in this system. She would be 66 now!

There is a lot of this kind of bad relations**ts in the new world society.

I began to hate the standard JW explanation that Jehoobie would make sure transgressions would be found out in His own time or the proper time or sometime over the rainbow. Trangressions go on for decades, ruining lives, while the wonderful and loving Almighty God waits for the perfect moment to expose the sinners. In the case of child molestation or other abuse, those being abused have their lives destroyed while Jehoover does nothing.

If there is a God, he either doesn't give a flip, he's fairly powerless, or he has some other group of worshippers who are his real people and they are the ones being protected and nurtured.

Nothing surprising, after all its human nature. I knew of elders that would cheat, lie and manipulate all the time. In my old cong. in Puerto Rico this elder was having an affair with another brothers wife. They got caught so the elder and his mistress took off together to New York.

This is nothing new, it happens everywhere in the world not only on the Borg.

    R6Laser,

True. However, the rest of the world doesn't point to itself as the "Light Bearers" and "God's cleansed people."

    Respectfully,

Exactly. However they are just human like everyone else and therefore not perfect. If we beleived that we would find perfect people in the KH then we were sadly mistaken.

R6Laser - As much as I agree that anyone expecting to find perfect people in a KH was mistaken, we are talking about, as OldSoul points out, a group of people claiming to be God's 'Light Bearer'. This same group of people claim that the elders and MS, DOs, and COs etch, and the legendary 144 000 are all specifically chosen by God because of their 'good heart conditions'!

All I can say, is 'what a load of crap!'

Out of the situation I related to you, a woman killed herself because ultimately she was disfellowshiped and lost EVERYONE. What organization can do that to you? Even the prison system allows contact, communication, letters, visits etc....but NOT Jehovah's organization! Makes you wonder!
