How many mistresses can a JW elder have?

Lawrence and AK - Jeff - Amen!!!

The religion/book publishing company, encourages deception and lies in its very core of its teachings.

Don't tell people that we believe everyone but us are doomed.

Pretend to be part of the community, even though everyone else is bird food.

R and F are not to smoke, but the WTBTS can have shares in cigarette companys.

Disfellowship anyone who smokes or works with tobacco....but not the WTBTS.

Disfellowship anyone who works with military companys but not the WTBTS.

Cover over paedophilia....heaven forbid the WTBTS has to pay out to victims.

Join the UN secretly, while proclaiming it to be an evil beast, just for any benefits you can get from it. But no R and F member can have anything to do with the UN or the YMCA or any other earthly organization!

The elder we began this chat with, tried to encourage a marriage between a friend of his and his first mistress. After a few weeks they separated as she would not consumate the marriage.

She then moved in with him and his wife. Normal behaviour? Something even the evil, doomed to destruction worldlings would consider? I don't think so. Twisted, and screwed up mentality or what?

The religion/book company encourages twisted and warped behaviour and, wants it covered up, all on the pretext of protecting Jehovah's name. Really, it's just to protect its bank account. In the end it just drags God's supposed name through the mud.

Let the Mexican R and F pay bribes to avoid prison and avoid any confiscation of WTBTS property by pretending not to be a religion in Mexico. But let the poor Malawian JWs SUFFER for the WTBTS lies and crackpot interpretation of scriptures.

Have as many mistresses as you like .....just don't get caught, brother!

As for women ...shut up, put up, and do as you're told.....Don't speak!!!!!!

Warped thinking and warped behaviour. Nothing from JW land is a surprise any more. Just very sad for so many destroyed and wasted lives.

If after knowing all those things that you posted you were still part of the WTS then I say shame one you. The ones that wasted their lives did so based in their own free will at the time.

Since you apparently want to play the shame game, shame on you. You minimize the impacts of high-control organizations and you speak to someone else's experience as if you were them, intead of seeing their experience through their eyes.

You have been here since January yet you have not started a single thread, and I can't find your story anywhere. So that I can relate to your vantage point, tell me more about yourself.

How many generations, maternally and paternally, were JWs? How far back does it go in your family? How much extended family are JWs? How many friends in how many places were JWs? How much did you enjoy associating with JWs? How well do you cope with change? What other major life changes came right along with this one? Did you really, sincerely believe you had the truth, the only truth, and nothing but the truth?

My asking is rhetorical to make a point. Now, imagine that someone else answers those questions differently than you. Do you have an ounce of empathy? If so, you aren't showing it in this thread.

    Shame on you.

In New Zealand, there was a trend of married older male JWs having affairs with "sweet little female things", deliberately getting caught, getting disfellowshiped and divorced (although not necessarily in that order), marrying the sweet little things, "doing time" outside the organisation, repenting and sometimes within 2 to 3 years comnig back into the organisation with new young wife and perhaps new child as well and even gaining back their former positions.

I think a contributing factor to this phenom. is that parents in the borg don't expect this to happen and thus don't prepare their daughters for the reality of pedophilic types who prey on very young women ... plus the fact that women so outnumber the men.

And to RLaser's point ... it doesn't matter if he disagrees with the majority, he is entitled to his own opinion. There's no need to waste time debating jw apologists. If they don't understand the concept of mind-control then so be it.

It's not like they were holding a gun to my head forcing me to work a dead end job, not having children, not going to college. Of course they would tell you do these things but the actual choice comes down to what the person wanted to do.

R6L - that is true. But unlike you, and here is where the compassion needs to be applied in dealing with those who are hurting here, some of us spent not a few years in hs in this organization, then cast off the ropes and got on with it. I spent 45 years believing these lies. Not the same thing is it? I became a witless out of free will, true. I was held captive by the carrot and stick and brainwashing.

I understand these people's pain - they lost more than a couple years playing sports, my friend.

I'm not an apologist, I'm just stating that if after seeing all the wrong things going on with the WTS and you still did as they told you than its your own fault, no one elses. Maybe mind control works more on those with weak minds.

The point is that we didn't see it for a long time. Why call those of us who believed 'those with weak minds'? Yours is the 'strong mind' then that saw thru the subtefuge while a teenager? I doubt it. You just left like most rebellious teens do - now you have a superior mind? Give me a break kid. Jeff

I apologize if I misunderstood your position. But you also have to understand that not everyone in the borg. knows what is going on. Men seem to be much more privy to what is happening in the lives of the R&F than are women ... and they condone and cover up for their cronies in a way I never would have imagined while I was inside. However, when I began to see the hypocrisy myself (and believe me, it was not where near as deplorable as what I've read on this forum) that is when I high-tailed my behind out of there and took my life back. Unfortunately, millions are still being deceived to believe that these people are 'light bea rers' sweet tee

The ones that wasted their lives did so based in their own free will at the time.

Ya right, and those who invested in Enron corporation did so with their "own free will".

    Ditto Jonestown & the kool-aid.

If the Watchtower couldn't cower behind freedom of religion their officer's would all be doing time for their fraud in the name of God

Who does God hate most,WT false 'profits' or the corporate board of Enron?[Matthew 25:30]

I know of MANY JW elders who were first class whoremasters, there was so much dub dog-eat-dog egotistical competition over woman, that i know of several MS's in my last congregation who were eaten up with jealousy over my 50k a year job and my job description as a welder (a skill that could qualify me on overseas WT construction projects) that they went ape s**t over it.

I was a low key guy but to them just the thought of me coming back with a hot overseas babe made them go NUTS.

Excuse me,are these the salt of the earth who will inherit it?No,they are the scum of the earth.

    free will?

my ex and my kids are still in, talked to my 9 yr old son today he's upset cuz an ELDER told him i was going to DIE in armageddon (which is coming SOON) if i dont start going back to the hall. it kills me to hear the fear in his voice. he's supposed to be worried about video games and riding his skate board not the threat of DEATH.

if i had money for a lawyer... UGH

he's NINE, i was 4th generation jw.. the threat of death starts at infancy, it takes a lot to shake up a life time of faith enough that you look at it with some objectivity.

all i can do is show him in the bible where it says god judges the heart and knows the heart. the elders dont. if i say too much or say ANYTHING against the wtbs i loose all contact with my kids.. free will doesnt exsist within the boundries of the wtbs. not for people who were raised in it.
