Oh we absolutely did this for EVERY convention site we were borrowing but people think its just selfless. What a joke. We used Sportmans Park in Chicago...a horse racing track and cleaned that shithole from one end to the other, rewiring, scraping nasty urinals, and horse poop smell and dirt track dust all over every surface was our pay for our good deed. You think for a NANOSECOND the owners of those conventions DONT want the stupid JWs to come in and overhaul the place? LOLOL!

That he didnt want to marry me but did so because he said he would and felt obligated. So for 22 years, I have lived in a loveless marriage with a man who didnt even love me BEFORE we were married. He has ripped my heart out....and stomped on it.

i remember all of those talks about behaving at assemblies and all of those talks about setting a good example.. .
what if people were to go to an assembly, looking exactly like a jw, but behaving like a jw could never get away with?.
the jw's must not trust their members or at least don't have too much faith in them when it comes to being alone around member of the opposite sex.
i can remember one time in particular from when i was a teenager that still makes me laugh today.. when i was younger i used to go out in service on a regular basis during the week when i had summer break.
one time when i met for service there were only two other people that showed up.
When I started "dating" my husband at 33 years old mind you, his JW mother made his Downs sister go with us. She might be retarded but she had the ability to remember everything you said and did and was extremely eager to share it all with anyone at the hall. So...yeah...it was pretty damn effective.

i would encourage anyone who thinks they may have a problem to get help, it is out there.. since i have become sober i am now doing a law degree, took up scuba diving, got my kids involved in snorkelling, scuba, horse riding and shooting.
VERY cool. I know how hard this is. My estranged husband was a heavy drinker since his mid teens and it took him beating me one night to see how destructive he had become. He has been sober since March 06.
It IS something you should be very proud of and good on ya for sharing that new outlook on life with your kids!!

so i was talking to my mother the other day, and she was distressed because she was saying that if my little sister isn't baptized or working toward it by the time she's 18 (which is coming up soon) she may have to move out (more then likely she'll move in with me and my girlfriend, or my older sister if that happens).
my little sister is a great kid (high honor roll, no trouble, hard worker, etc), that many parents would be grateful to have.
i asked my mom, why would they take parenting advice from a guy who doesn't (and hasn't) ever had kids?
