jw's often say they don't serve with any dates in mind.
but the fact is many of them can't fathom why the end just hasn't come yet.
since 2014 marks 100 years of invisible rule many witnesses can't help but think this has some special meaning.
The last couple of jws that I spoke to got very defensive and irrate when I asked them if they had ever entertained the thought that they may actually grow old and die in this system, after all the "this gen" prophecy is practically openended now.
"I will NOT think about that" the sis said "the end WILL be here, it would show a lack of faith to say otherwise".

I have known of elders giving talks for unbaptised ones but NOT in the KH.
They have had a private service at the funeral home and then had arrangement for refeshments at a private home.
This was also done for bro who took his own life.
So there are ways around it perhaps depends on which elder you ask.

after leaving the cult of jw's or waking up to ttatt, it is a struggle to trust people again.
i am personally starting from scratch although i am still in.
each moment i spend with my current jw friends, i know they are all smiles and loving towards me because of my good status with the wt.. outside a cult you still find fake people and it is also a struggle to find true friends and it is even worst when we've been hit hard from people we used to trust and care for.. .
A true friend is:
honest
loyal
takes the time to get to know the real you
not too quick to judge
does'nt take themselves too seriously, can have a laugh.
respects and appreciates your individuality
hang on, I think I am describing my dog...... oh well you gotta find friendship wherever you can.
i know what they are supposed to be like.
but at this point in time, do you think the elders look joyful?

the other day i had a couple of drinks and went off on the gb (again), about how they are just posturing and have no clue.
