The WT always has to be against something. I remember a long time ago when they spoke against TV (Satan's eyeball), then it was color TV, then VCR's, computers, cell phones, and I forget what else.

More "sex texting" on Facebook...Circuit Assembly
by dudeson inso my congregation just had their circuit assembly on 3/14.
recalling the thread about "facebook sex", i told a non-witness friend at work that after this assembly is over he would notice one of our mutual friends would either lower his time on fb or delete it altogether.
sure enough, come sunday night, his profile was gone.

Are you taking Fosimax, Boniva or any other bone saving drug?
by restrangled inif you haven't heard, there is now a link to snapped femurs in woman who have been on these drugs for a few years.
not only that, it has been found to kill the jaw bone.. the following link below is just one of many reporting on this problem.. my own mother in law snapped her femur and now will never recover fully.
she fell from a standing position in her own drive way.. explained from another site: these drugs stop the body from reabsorbing old bone.

I took Fosamax for about a year. Against my doctor's advice, I stopped taking it about 3 years ago when I read about a report that it might make the bones bigger, but makes them more brittle. I'm taking 1500 mg of calcium a day, plus magnesium and vitamin D. Also working out at the gym about 4 hours a week--much of that is with weights.

When I was 20, I remember older people saying, "If only I knew what I know now, I would have done things differently." I remember thinking, well I want to do things right now so I don't regret my later years. Now 40+ years later, I regret over and over the decisions that I made back then. I chose not to get my 4-year university education which all tuition would have been paid. I chose to waste 2-1/2 years of my life as a pioneer (back then 100 hours per month--1200 a year). I also regret getting my parents involved. My father became one of those judgmental, hypocritical elders that we talk so much about. Recently, our daughter turned against me when she detected that I was fading from the organization. Looking back when I was 20, I remember a few non-witness people advising me to get an good education, but I didn't listen. I had the TRUTH.
The best thing I did was marry Clyde. He is a wonderful man, but I didn't always appreciate him because he wasn't as "zealous" as I was, and it almost caused our marriage to fall apart. It only got better when I got out of the big "O". I'm also very happy that our two sons and two daughters-in-law are no longer in the borg, and my grand daughter will have a normal life. Life can still be good....

What religion would you recommend for those who want to leave the WTS?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inafter i decide to leave the jehovah's witnesses one day,i will not look for a new religion.
the damage that the wts has caused me leads me to mistrust all men and religion.. i trusted these men from the wts .
i gave up 35 years of my life to find out that the wts is just a printing and real estate corporation disguised as a religion.

Clyde and I joined a local Moose lodge (part of Moose International). We were amazed at all the charitable work they are involved in, and we are now happy to spend a few hours a week volunteering. Clyde has actually been made a "prelate". The only requirement to join is that we state that we believe in a higher diety and are not terrorists. We were OK with that. We just commented to each other that the Moose has filled the void in our lives. It's all we need. We don't need a controlling religion.

"The point is that earthquakes are common and always have been,"
by purplesofa insurvivors shiver in turkey after quake kills 51by burhan ozbilici and suzan fraser, associated press writersmon mar 8, 3:39 pm etokcular, turkey hundreds of earthquake survivors huddled in aid tents and around bonfires monday in eastern turkey, seeking relief from the winter cold after a strong temblor knocked down stone and mud-brick houses in five villages, killing 51 people.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100308/ap_on_re_eu/eu_turkey_earthquake/print;_ylt=aovcmz.3hc_i9x940453ssxbbbaf;_ylu=x3odmtbvajzzatfybhbvcwmxnqrzzwmddg9wbhnsawnwcmluda--.
monday's quake in eastern turkey followed deadly recent temblors in haiti and chile, but bernard doft, the seismologist for the royal netherlands meteorological institute in utrecht, said there was no direct connection between the three.. "these events are too far apart to be of direct influence to each other," he said.. richard luckett, a seismologist from the british geological survey, said there has not been a spike in global seismic activity.. "if there was a big increase in the number of magnitude 6.0s in the past decade we would know it, because we would see it in the statistics," luckett said.
"we haven't seen an increase in 7.0s either.".

The U.S. Geological survey says, "earthquakes from tiny tremblors to massive ones strike about 1.3 million times a year. You just don't feel most of them....The reason there are far more reports is that the number of seismograph stations has increased from 350 globally in 1931 to 8,000 today."

In some ways, I'm almost jealous. These kids figured out it is a sham at age 14--it will be tough, but they still have time to do something with their lives. I made the decision to become a witness at age 14, influenced by uncles and cousins who were in deep. It took awhile, but both of my parents became witnesses as well, my father an elder. 50 years later, I went to my last meeting and was trying to do a "slow fade" so as not to upset my father. He got upset anyway, and now my daughter and my cousins want nothing to do with me--although not DF'd.

I bought my mother a birthday cake. My daughter told the elders, and I had to talk to the elders. Managed to smooth talk my way out of it.

The Dictonary of JW's
by highdose injw's are very fond of taking words and making them mean somthing completly different.
i thought it might be interesting to compile these.
of course every other worldly dictonary will say that the word mean somthing different... but brothers and sisters!

Seems like there was a thread some time ago with definitions of JW terms. Don't have time to research now. But it would be fun to put all the information together.

2010 DC" Remain in Gods Love"...Most Unloving Yet??
by JWFreak inthe talk outlines for the summers conventions are only being printed over the next 2 weeks or so.. the finished outlines were ready in the middle of december 2009, however sources that i trust tell me that at least 5 of the talks were returned for last minute rewriting which is highly unusual.
this has held up the printing until now, a delay of over a month.
this is a fact!!.

About 1981 one of Clyde's friends told him that he heard from his mother-in-law's husband who was a circuit overseer that the organization was going to start cracking down. Sounded like a rumor, but sure enough, as you all know there was a big crack down. When I heard of a rash of disfellowshippings, I concluded it was because there was a lot of wickedness that had to be cleaned out of the organization. Now I know differently. This is a "wait and see", but I would say, "brace yourselves." They MUST keep the organization clean.

This is insane. It's not in my Bible.
According to the Bible, A.D. 1914 is a fixed date.
I remember this article. I think it was in response to the "apostate" crackdown in the early 80's. I remember referring to the Beroeans as a reason to question the WT--after all if it was Ok to question Paul, why not the WT? Well they squelched that.....
*** w81 2/15 pp. 18-19 Do We Need Help to Understand the Bible? ***
But does this mean that those Beroeans were looking for flaws in the message they were hearing, or that their attitude was one of doubting? Does this set a precedent for regarding critically the publications brought forth by the "faithful and discreet slave," with a view to finding fault? Not at all!
