"where you will be raised to a higher state of bliss"
yes, you read correctly..... all appointed men have been told in a new letter that they have to pioneer to "set the lead" whenever there is a "special" campaign month.
they use some scripture saying that these ones have to show by example.... so for any of us who are appointed and have learned ttatt, it is going to be very hard to fade during this time!.
.
Ok, so we were reminded of the letter, and asked "why can't we all pioneer for the month of August.?"
As appointed men, "we are supposed to set the lead, in order to encourage the flock"
The " governing body are all in full time service, so we should do our bit too"
One bro simply said.."we'll I'm afraid I need to support my family by working, so ill set the example by doing that"
So...it does seem like it was a locally over zealous COBE reading more into the letter...but trying to present it as a gb directive!!
Man...I am so pissed off now!
we have often heard about the need to "put on the 'new personality'" as a jw.... but i have realised something in these last few years of awakening to the ttatt...i dont like what i had become as a 'good' jw!.
i realised that being a 'good' jw made me very:.
critical of my fellow man,.
Great responses everyone!
I really appreciate that it is not just me then in this situation!?
Well, I guess being aware of the ares we need to improve on is the best way to make it happen.
We are all good people!...We should let our REAL selves develop....
i think of how judgmental we were as witnesses.
"worldly ones" were almost as bad as disfellowshipped ones but not as bad as "apostates"..
I yes indeed!
I even started another thread on here yesterday called ("putting on the NEW new perosnality")
I was so judgemental

I realised that being a 'good' JW made me very:
Critical of my fellow man,
Judgemental and suspicious of 'worldly' people...most of whom wish nothing but the best for their fellow man,
Judgemental of even 'fellow beleivers'...yes those we should be close to, as I imitated the orgs view of looking for the faults in every cong member, and their failings...
Always on edge waiting for the big A...which equals stress...
Looking at everything in the world's system as 'Bad', instead of being thankful for what I do have
etc...
Once I realised this, I was truely able to "put on a new personality"...one that is positive, and relaxed. One that is truely kind and genuine...
I'm sure there is always more to improve on, but I am on the right path finally...
Anyone else gone through this sort of thing?
i just caught this in an upcoming study article which will be "studied" in the congregations the week of 11/18-24/13:.
he and his wife were elated when their eldest daughter, age ten, told them that she loved her parents, loved the brothers and sisters, and loved jehovah very much.
she said that she wanted to dedicate her life to jehovah and get baptized.
I only noticed this thread now...sorry for the late addition.
One disturbing, yet telling thing is the comment quoted in the opening post. Notice that the young kid says " she loves her parents, loves the bros and sis...THEN Jehovah"?
This highlights that the real reason kids get baptised is to be "men-pleasers"!
They are being guilted with peer pressure into doing it cos older ones imply it is the right thing to do.
Oh, then oh yer...it's to "please god"!? Yer right!!!!

Hi all,
My intention certainly was not to try and give this thread an inacurate title...or lead anyone astray...sorry if it has appeared this way.
I was simply reporting what has occured in our cong, and the directives we have been given.
We were reminded about that letter and then told that as appointed men we would have to pioneer to "take the lead, as per the GB strong recoemmendation"
Then we were told to plan now for August so that we can all do it. There was no option presented to NOT do it.
As some have suggested, perhaps our COBE read more into it? In a days time we are supposed to have another letter read to us to confirm this...I'll let you know whatever this is supposed to be....
para 19 of today's wt had a good rant about the dangers of the internet.
a footnote directs us to an article in the wt aug 15 2011. this said in part.
"be critical and suspicious of the information.
I remember a quote in the past that said something like: (and Im going off memory only...feel free to correct me)
"why dont we need to research our faith / beliefs etc...? Because jehovahs appointed ones have already done all the research for us so we can be confident we have the truth"
Can anyone find that quote???
so i think the title pretty much says it all.
i have a tendancy to be long winded about things, so i'll just give a general introduction and maybe tell things as i go along.
i don't even really know what i want from this site (ironically i remember jehovahs-witness.net mentioned from the platform as a site not to go to).
Welcome!
You need to remember that you are very precious and you have a value far beyond how you may be feeling right now...
Just remember that although things may be "thrown" at you, you do not have to accept everything!
You are in control of your own life...do not let anyone or any group cause you to lose your self worth.
Most importantly, you need to ask yourself: "do you think that Witneses have the truth, the only direct relationship with God?" if the answer is "No", then this will allow you to release the bonds they have over you...
Also, remember...you have only acted according to the normal way for a human! Sex is not a sin, even though Witnesses stigmatize it!
Genuine, sincere love to you.
