  Trolleys everywhere in my neck of the woods

  i went to an appointment today and what do you know a trolley.. i couldn't stop and chat, but i have another appoinment thursday, i will go early and have a chat.

  i love this it's great fun chatting to jws whilst being df'd.. any ideas for my presentation?.

  Ask them if everything in the bible is real?

  Ask if it has meaning for us today?

  Then ask why is murder ok in the bible if a servant of God? Can we murder today?

  Then ask is Lot an example to imitate? If so, is it ok to be selfish and choose the best lands to live, yet even if they are in wicked towns? Is it ok to have sex with your daughters?

  Is Noah real? How did he collect the kangaroos from Australia and then drop them back off there again after the flood (and no where else)?

  etc....

  Ask when the updated "study" book is due out to replace the current teachings as found in "the Bible Teach" book?

  just a random thought......... i just realised that the religion we know as jw is like fairy floss or cotton candy!.

  appears to be sweet to newcomers, looks light and fluffy and colourful, but it is bad for your health!.

  Thank you for this forum! Without it I couldn't sit through the meetings!

  the only way i can sit through the meetings is due to having my tablet and connection to this forum!.

  since awakening, i can't believe how much i cringe each and every meeting when i hear all the propaganda and garbage spewed out from the bible and the society!.

  i only cope by venting on here.. (plus it is so easy when sitting at the back of the hall or on the sound control box... hahaha).

  so we all know that matt 11:28-30 says .

  28 "come to me, all you who are toiling and loaded down, and i will refresh you.29 take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for i am mild-tempered and lowly in heart, and you will find refreshment for yourselves.

  30 for my yoke is kindly, and my load is light.. it amazes me immensely how the organisation has completely overlooked the intent of this verse as supposedly said by gods son!.

  we found some people who were happy to welcome us into their homes, even offering us food and drink.. sometimes, they would flag us down and ask for the magazines, walk miles to the kh meetings, come to our defense if someone got ugly or rude.. now, jw's are either routinely ignored or outright vilified.. no one respects them anymore.. sad.. .

  The grass is never greener on the other (former) side snowbird....

  I have a lifetime of fond memories, but now knowing TTATT, I see that I was misled with falsehoods!

  I guess I am still in the angry, bitter stage of grieving.......

  when rutherford assumed the presidency of the watchtower society he instituted series of sweeping changes to the teachings and practices of the bible students.

  some of these changes were at complete odds with what had been taught previously.

  a key example was the elevation of the watchtower society as "god's visible organization on earth".

  so the rc really sucked, but i made it through.

  the propaganda was mind blowing.

  i don't know if the crap will be available on the official website or not, but hopefully it gets leaked somehow.

  Hi DD

  I feel your pain!

  I have had to go through the same with my wife...she goes through bursts of "we are not doing enough, we are not spiritual etc"

  What I found helped was when she became more occupied with something such as a work career or a form of (study, by which i mean academic, not witness study)

  This helped her to look outside of the 'witness bubble' and see that there is much more to life than the narrow view witnesses promote.

  Or can you encourage your wife to take up a hobby she always liked? Perhaps join a club or group such as a pottery class etc.... She will then gradually develop a focus away from jw indoctrination....

  Just do it gradually and kindly so she doesn't realise you are diverting her attention away from witness indoctrination.....
