First, it is good to realize that Rom. 13:4 makes it clear the governments are God's servants. It means, going against them, is going against God. regardless the correctness of the decisions of these servants. It is up to God to judge them, not up to the WT in this case. The bible never says anywhere that a believer MUST gather in a man-made house of worship, regardless the rules of the country. It is a WT rule, jeopardizing the lives of many of its members. If the law says that something is illegal, it is. And if one does not obey, there are consequences. Happens in all countries. The WT had time to appeal in court but eventually lost. Whether one agrees with the law or reasons behind it, is irrelevant. If I am speeding because I believe I have the right to move at a speed I like (freedom to move), I will still be penalized for it. It is a law. David is sometimes used to show that he continued the worship as usual. First, it was his personal choice. Second, he personally accepted the risks. So, if any member of the gb believes it is good to do what David did, then take a plane (paid by donations) and personally go door to door and accept the risks.
Now, why not just leave the country? Why use the local member to fight the government. Paul did not (Act. 13:51). Matt. 10:14 gives the same advice. Check Act. 14:6. Or Act. 7:29. Joseph and Maria fled to Egypt. Lastly Jo. 10:39,40.
My point: get out of the country if you are not welcome or when you cannot do what you want without breaking the law. Protect you members who donated all their time and money to you. Give them the freedom to believe and protect themselves. Unfortunately is seems the WT is more interested in their own interest. -

JW news release and deception - The "High-Profile Case" in Russia
by jwleaks ini found this interesting bit of news release propaganda by the jws on their website dated april 5, 2017.. "russia's supreme court begins high-profile case against jehovah's witnesses".
https://www.jw.org/en/news/releases/by-region/russia/supreme-court-begins-case-against-jehovahs-witnesses/.
my interest was piqued by the jw claim that the court hearing is a "high-profile case".

RUSSIA: (7 April 2017) Day 3 - Jehovah's Witnesses hearing under way
by Drearyweather inin moscow, a soft rain drizzles.
along the facade of the supreme court stretched a large queue of those who came to the process as listeners.
a large bus is parked at the courthouse on povarskaya street, full of obviously bored police officers.

Are congregations in Spain suffering an increase in banking fees since Watchtower 'seized' their bank savings?
by jwleaks inremember a few years ago watchtower literally 'siezed' all individual congregation bank savings around the world above what was needed to cover basic kingdom hall monthly expenses?
a new march 30, 2017, boe letter has just gone out to congregations in spain, which, more or less, explains that congregations bank account funds no longer entitle congregations to reduced banking fees.
(see copy of actual paragraph below.).

Real reason why Russian government is trying to ban JW's

Hi DW, strictly speaking, you are right, though Russia is a UN (security) member. At the same, in many WT discourses the political world in general was mentioned. I dare to say if the ban was to only other denominations ,excluding WT, most JWs would say that the ban is the sign that the political world is turning against religion.

I remember the WT interpretation (i.e. their prophecy) on events before Armageddon regarding the attack by politicians (Political world) on religion. It was said it would start with attack on false religion and then end with an attack on true religion (WT of course). Well, in that sense we could say that it does not end with the WT but it all might start with WT, meaning WT is synonym for false religion....or is my interpretation wrong???

Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses launches worldwide campaign againt Russia
by jwleaks injehovah's witnesses mobilize global response to threat of ban in russia.
march 21, 2017. https://www.jw.org/en/news/releases/by-region/russia/jw-mobilize-global-response-to-threat-of-ban/.
new york—threatened with an imminent ban on their worship in russia, jehovah’s witnesses are responding with a direct appeal to kremlin and supreme court officials for relief through a global letter-writing campaign.

The instructions include this: You are writing to the official to request his intervention
This sounds like they have more faith in "the armies of the Assyrians or Egypt" instead of their God.
Also, it is becoming more clear that the 7 angels in NY are no longer attached to the congregations. They cannot act as the WBTS as they have said that they do not control the WBTS.
To use your own name or even company name, is a rather tricky thing to do. Actually, very peculiar asking the members to write a letter without showing what the 7 angels have written themselves. My gut feeling: they themselves will not write. And it is not 8 million. Many of them are children, illiterate or over 65/70 who might have difficulties to use internet. In the end, I expect only a few thousand letters.

I thought true Christians do not get involved in politics. Did Jesus write letters? Did Paul ask others to write letters? What about actions for other topics where rank and file JW's are severely persecuted? May be we should organize all non-JW's to write letters to relevant governments regarding Child Abuse in the WBTS??
I can only assume there are other interests at play here?
They make a reference to a similar campaign 20 years ago. Was it successful? Also, what if this campaign fails? Has their god then also failed?
