wow, it's true - they don't call to 'promote god's kingdom' anymore but just their website!.

we just had an old lady call and tell us that was exactly what they were doing and it has "lots of good things on their for children".

Could it be that Jehovah is punishing me for leaving his religion?

i know it's a completely absurd thing to say, but something happened to me today that triggered the old cult reaction.

my mind instantly lapsed back into that of a jw and for a split second i thought that because i wasn't doing jehovah things that jehovah's blessing had been removed from me and this is why my life seems to be running into so many dead-ends.

as a jw i attributed anything good happening to me to being the result of my being a good jw and dutifully doing everything the borg teaches.

i thought it was high time to introduce myself (without my name of course).

as my name would suggest i have been reading your intriguing post, thoughts and discussions for some time now.

around 3/4 months to be exact.. i guess to start with it would seem fitting to give a little background on my current situation.. i'm a born-in, but have over the last few years found that through a number of varying occurences, (some of which i may discuss in future posts) that my 'zeal' has gone from regular field service and meetings to no service in over a year and very sporadic meeting attendance.

Wow! What a day...

had a pretty deep conversation with my 'still-in' wife.. came home from some business, read some more in c.of c.. then my wife is sick and will not make the meeting tonight.... .

so we're are both home listening in to the meeting on the phone together.. it's been about a year since i've been to/listened to anything.. .

so weird.. and i'm posting here with it on in the background.. .

today i was at the meeting (i go there about once a month now).

in the service meeting they had a part where they interviewed the secretary of the congregation.. so one question was: "why are the service reports so important?".

our secretary explained that the reports are important, because the elders can see, who is spiritually weak.

" the thought occurred to me the other day - the wt scam rakes in billions of dollars, and yeah some of that goes to operations and equipment.

but bethelites at farm and factory get only a bare little dorm room and a monthly pittance.

our last midweek meeting was going along as planed, then after the last talk, an elder was called up to say: member x is no longer a jw, please sing.... after the song it was silent (compared to todays were people started talk right away) and the father had his head down with someones hand on his back.

i didn't catch what they were saying, but the pose said: i'm sorry for your loss.. it was a weird night thinking how leaving a religion could couse such sadnness.. jw.org.

I remember when I was anounced... I spent that night wandering around in a Walmart just so I would not blow my brains out!

After being reinstated 18 months later , I looked at it all differant.

I now have left on my own... What a wonderful freedom!

The two elders want to visit my sister the next saturday (this is the third visit)

i phoned my sister and she told me that the elders called her to visit her again the next saturday morning.

WTBTS continues to move to paperless

during my last meeting i was approached to see if i would be willing to switch to the electronic version of the km/watchtower.

i thought to myself "i'm way ahead of you here, buddy.

been doing it for almost a year.

Heads up... I left on my own.. Not DRed..

After being an Elder for so many years and my chosing to no longer be part of Jehovah's Wittnesses... they do not talk to me anyway!

I still love them and have willed my assets to them. I completely understand .. I raised them in the JWs.

But any who think they can fade away and start living a life outside the organinzation and all will be tne same with family and friends....Well, ,,,may not work out that way.
