Same here in Britain they keep pushing for an ID card that will contain all information about you on a micro-chip.
Even the latest passports that are now issued have a chip in that contains such information.

But puzzled why the JW's you talked to didn't know about the "Mark of the Beast" considering the number of times they have gone through Revelation book.

33 The wild beast has a name, and this name is a number: 666. Six, as a number, is associated with Jehovah’s enemies. A Philistine man of the Rephaim was of “extraordinary size,” and his “fingers and toes were in sixes.” (1 Chronicles 20:6) King Nebuchadnezzar erected a golden image 6 cubits in breadth and 60 cubits high, to unify his political officials in one worship. When God’s servants refused to worship the image of gold, the king had them thrown into a fiery furnace. (Daniel 3:1-23) The number six falls short of seven, which stands for completeness from God’s standpoint. Therefore, a triple six represents gross imperfection.
34 A name identifies a person. So how does this number identify the beast? John says that it “is a man’s number,” not that of a spirit person, so the name helps to confirm that the wild beast is earthly, symbolizing human government. Just as six fails to measure up to seven, so 666-six to the third degree-is a fitting name for the world’s gigantic political system that fails so miserably to measure up to God’s standard of perfection. The world’s political wild beast rules supreme under the name-number 666, while big politics, big religion, and big business keep that wild beast functioning as an oppressor of mankind and a persecutor of God’s people.
35 What does it mean to be marked on the forehead or in the right hand with the name of the wild beast? When Jehovah gave Israel the Law, he told them: “You must apply these words of mine to your heart and your soul and bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they must serve as a frontlet band between your eyes.” (Deuteronomy 11:18) This meant that the Israelites had to keep that Law constantly before them, so that it influenced all their actions and thoughts. The 144,000 anointed ones are said to have the Father’s name and that of Jesus written on their foreheads. This identifies them as belonging to Jehovah God and Jesus Christ. (Revelation 14:1) In imitation, Satan uses the demonic mark of the wild beast. Anybody engaged in everyday activities such as buying and selling is pressured to do things the way the wild beast does, as, for example, in celebrating holidays. They are expected to worship the wild beast, letting it rule their lives, so as to receive its mark.
36 Those who refuse to accept the mark of the wild beast have had constant problems. Starting in the 1930’s, for example, they had to fight many court battles and endure violent mobbings and other persecutions. In the totalitarian countries, they were thrown into concentration camps, where many died. Since the second world war, countless young men have suffered lengthy imprisonments, some even being tortured and killed, because of their refusal to compromise their Christian neutrality. In other lands Christians are literally unable to buy or sell; some are unable to own property; others are raped, murdered, or chased from their native land. Why? Because in good conscience they refuse to buy a political party card.-John 17:16.
37 In some areas of the earth, religion is so ingrained in community life that anyone who stands for Bible truth is ostracized by family and former friends. It takes great faith to endure. (Matthew 10:36-38; 17:22) In a world where the majority worship material wealth and where dishonesty is rampant, the true Christian often has to trust implicitly in Jehovah that He will uphold him in pursuing an upright course. (Psalm 11:7; Hebrews 13:18) In a world awash with immorality, it takes great determination to remain clean and pure. Christians who fall sick are often pressured by doctors and nurses to break God’s law on the sanctity of blood; they even have to resist court orders that conflict with their faith. (Acts 15:28, 29; 1 Peter 4:3, 4) And in these days of rising unemployment, it is becoming increasingly difficult for a true Christian to avoid work that would mean compromising his integrity before God.-Micah 4:3, 5.
38 Yes, the world is a difficult place for those who do not have the mark of the wild beast. It is an outstanding demonstration of Jehovah’s power and blessing that the remaining ones of the seed of the woman, as well as more than three million of the great crowd, are keeping integrity despite all the pressures to break God’s laws. (Revelation 7:9) Unitedly, throughout the earth, may all of us continue to magnify Jehovah and his righteous ways, as we refuse to receive the mark of the wild beast.-Psalm 34:1-3.

What would be the difference say, for an individual giving up his life for his country?
Those are the beliefs of the individual, if he wants to lay down his life for what he
believes in so be it.If I choose to give my life for my country it will be my decision alone.
If I decide not to, will my country drive me away put me outside its frontiers and say that I can no longer call myself British.
The JW has no such choice. Either obey the dictates of the Watchtower or lose your family friends etc.
If as a JW you accept blood its not your life you are giving up, but the lives of family and friends.
They will cease to exist for you.
Watchtower Murder Incorprated ??....
If you die refusing blood , they have killed you.
If you accept blood, to them you will be dead.
You can either take the chance and die. or save yourself and lose others.
It seems either way the losers will be family and friends.

An event that happened locally, I think someone else on JWD knows about this one, was a few years ago now. A local congregation was supposedly closed for redecoration and some members came to my old KH, they went to other KH as well. What I learnt later on was that rather than a case of redocration. It seems the Elders were meeting at the KH for drinking sessions. Anyway one night a fight broke out between them, spilled out on to street. Police were called by people, Elders end up being charge with being drunk and disorderly. Seems someone informed London Bethel. They sent couple of Heavies up from London. Removed all Elders involved and spent a couple of weeks choosing new Elders. I believe the congregation is now only half the size it was from back then.
Later after I left I learnt from my daughter that young ones in the local congregations, would arrange secret parties. A hall would be hired outside the area. Messages would be sent by text. She said sometimes they would get up to 200, mostly JW's. Crates of beer, bottles of wine and spirits, plus food. There was also drugs available, cannabis, ecstasy mainly. Music, DJ, etc. Also that bigger "raves" were arranged around the Manchester or Leeds areas.
How come I never hear about these parties until afterwards.

Was the Watchtower taken off guard by the internet and XJW forums
by JH indo you think that the internet and xjw forums caught the watchtower off guard?
just a few years ago, disfellowshipped ones were powerless and rendered silent by the watchtower.. to what degree do you think the internet has made life difficult for the watchtower?.

I think that they under estimated the effect of the Internet. Or they under estimated the explosion in internet use. (I think many did)
They didn't realised that it would create a worldwide family of ex-JW's. That the knowledge, experiences of ex-JW's would have any effect.
Anti-Watchtower websites appeared. forums came about. People discussed and learnt more about the WT than at anytime previously.
Also now the possiblity is that if a person is called on by JW's. That person may decide to check them out on the internet. Unlike when I became a JW you were lucky to find a couple of books about them in the library. Now they are laid open to all by the press of a button.
Many have put their testimonies on websites or on forums like JWD and Freeminds, and other similar places.
What the WT has done to people. How its teachings have changed through the years. How it controls people.
Has become virtual common knowledge.
The WT has also made it difficult for themselves by "demonising" the internet. Warning its members to stay away from "apostate" sites, forums and the like. So that very few will venture to make a stand for the WT. Where a JW has actually made up a website/forum they make it so only JW's can post. Thus not allowing debate and defence of their beliefs possible. It just becomes a self-appreciation forum.
Will the WT fight back in the future via the internet? From what I have gathered they seem to more intent in battening the hatches down. Tellings its members at meetings, assemblies, conventions not to go near the "evil" internet. I've heard that when a JW starts to raise questions the Elders will ask where they got the information, what did they read and where did they read it. Almost as of looking for an excuse that the JW will admit to looking at some "apostate" website. Which could included any site that deals with Christians beliefs.
Will they begin to make such an admission a grounds for disfellowshipping?
Who knows with the Watchtower organisation, they can be very devious when they need be.

Celebrated WT scholars
Who the hell are they? What are their names? What are their qualifications?
If Carl Jonsson had published his book without naming souces or scholars. But just said "celebrated scholars, the facts show, " without naming anyone or any source.
You can be sure that "so-called Scholar" would be one of the first demanding where and from who he got his information. Hypocrite!
And don't use the old line that the "celebrated WT scholars" wanted to be anonymous so Jehovah could have the honour.
There is no honour in hiding.
If they wanted to bring "honour to Jehovah" then they should be named, their qualifications made known. So the rest of the worlds true scholars can test their theories. IF they are right then Jehovah will get the honour. Or do they hide knowing the doubts they have over this doctrine of 607.
Judging by the way the WT has been down on education at this years conventions. I would say that soon there won't be any "celebrated WT scholars" because no one will have got past High School education level.

Your Cell Phone Can Be Remotely Turned On!

it seems that even if you turn your cell phone off, it does not deactivate the unit.
the cia and fbi can actually turn it on by remote and use it as a bug and listen in to conversations even if you just leave it sitting out in the room - or the car - or the restaurant...endless opportunities.

They did a program on TV here in UK last year about how we are watched by CCTV etc.
The guy doing the program met with one of his researchers at a cafe. He put his phone on table between them.
Later on in the program they showed how an investigator who followed him through the program listened in by the phone.
The guy sat in a car about 50 yards away with a laptop and with the right software was able to send a signal to the phone and turn it on so he could listen and record the conversation.
They also showed how this guy sat outside the presenters house with a laptop and logged on to the presenters laptop. They said how easy this is to do if youuse WI-FI (wireless) for your computers.

It`s Time to Bitch about Gas!!

!..........i went to the nearest gas station which costs me $7.00 in gas to get to..i couldn`t believe how much gas had gone up since i had been there last..$1.30 per litre!
!..or..$5.20 per gallon for premium gas..outrageous!

Here in Britain we are paying on average 99p per litre = $1.94
Average cost for a gallon is £5 = $9.78
