  Why were no sea creatures destroyed in the flood?

  all the animals on earth were destroyed in the flood of noahs day apart from those in the ark ,apparently no sea creatures were destroyed in the flood , why is that ?.

  this is not an issue that only affects jehovahs witnesses , it is one that affects all beleivers that accept the bible as gods word.. obviously sea creatures were not put on the ark , no whales ,no dolphins , no fish , no krill , no plankton etc.

  you can fill in the rest .. so my question is , why were land animals / birds singled out for destruction ?, what wrong did they do to deserve this judgement against them .

  I never saw this in print but various speakers over the years have tried to rationalize it by suggesting that various water based organisms can adapt to varying levels of salinit. They cite fish like salmon that go from salt to fresh water at different stages of their life.

  This is of course stupid and ignores the countless species that are extremly sensative to such changes, that would have died quickly and had no oportunity to reproduce and be alive today.

  I appreciate the comment above referancing the tenth plauge in egypt. It dosent make sense to flood the earth when you have billions of angels coild have easily handled matters. Add to the tenth plauge accounts like the angel that slew 185,000 on behalf of hezikia.... but then that dosent help ancient people explain the wrath of god for flooding them.

  i think its pretty clear that the gb are power hungry.

  you cannot listen to the branch visit and not see clear as day that there are some of them that are loving the power.

  it showed the clearest with anthony morris.. now all these sex abuse scandals and news media are taking their power away.

  Advice Needed...Again

  current update- the wife and i are separated.

  i dont go to the meetings or in service but im not df, or da.

  she is not budging.. problem- my wife has made it clear that she doesnt want me back unless i do all the witness stuff, i have even offered to attend meetings but not participate in commenting or go in service and this is not good enough.

  As difficult a situation as this is for you, take a step back and boil this down to its most basic terms:

  your done being a JW.

  She isnt willing to carry on a relationship with you if you are not fully engaged as a dubbie.

  That seems to be it in a nut shell. The fact is you cannot force her to meet you half way, which it seems like you are willing to do... its all or nothing with her. Its sad. Its wrong. But its reality. Pining away for her dosent change the basics.

  There is only so much any of us can say on an internet forum to help, but for what its worth it seems you are willing to meet her halfway and attend her church with her. Shes being unreasonable and demanding you believe exactly as she does. It may be worth your time to seek counciling and get some professional help but whatever the case, i certainly wish you the best

  a close family member just informed me what happened during their last c.o.

  visit.

  @Ignorance, let me clarify:

  the new arrangment changes mostly the way elders are appointed NOT deleted. Instead of getting a CO to sign off and then send it to bethel for approval, the CO is now the final word.

  in the case if a deletion the CO was always involved and he COULD now be the final word, but not nessarily. The elder can still appeal although the appeal dosent go directly to the branch. If an elder is ok with removal or is stepping down then the CO can finish the matter immediatly.

  it does raise an interesting point on this situation.... Were they all ok with being removed...? Likely not. I wonder if this sitution had been broight to the CO's attention and he investigated, told them they were being removed, delt with appeals/any blow back from the branch and then scheduled a visit to handle it..... Ir did he just go gun slinger and handle it and say screw procedure...

  I dont intend to beat a dead horse, especially over something none of us can definitely speak to, but i totally agree with sir. In my experiance as an elder thats exactly what indecisive means. Its very easy to say "follow the money" but that overlooks the reality of day to day life in the cult. Its simply NOT always about the money, even for CO's. Even at bethel. There is the day to day grind to keep people in line, to control them, that makes it a cult. Again, just my .02 and i can prove nothing.

  obviously they feel a window washer job is a job anyone can do anywhere in he world .

  and makes great money, yea right.. so what are all those 'approved jobs?'.

  add to the list of any and all building skills, cleaning type jobs.
