Another reason god is a terrible "father"

its easy to look around and say if a singular all powerful were real he would stop the suffering of man and animal, a position i support.

however there is another even more basic premise i have pondered at times as well (im sure im not the first of course) : would any loving parent ever hide from their children?

consider it... our all knowing all loving father hides from us even though we cry out to know him.

And that freemind is part of my point... Leaving a letter from two thousand years ago thats not even the original letter or in a language i can read but expecting me to "know you" through it? Who would say a human father is loving because he did that instead of any level of personal contact when personal contact is easily doable. This isnt a father who died or is in jail... Hes the all powerful master of the universe! He supposoblyly has spoken to a select few.....its rediculious.

and what the hell is with the revisit of the navaho thing again? Did anyelse notice? They just did a puff piece about them a month or two ago (i remember because we all mocked the guy in service with a bolo tie) and now we get stock footage of the navaho donating? Why this emphisis on them?

sadly i know many who will open their wallets because of this crap. It will affect some to donate more just like other televangelist were able to shake money from people woth pleas for more.....

The key flaw in the logic of this threads tittle is that it presumes "jehovah" is the name of the god of the bible. It isnt. Therefore they are not "restoring gods name".

may 04, 2015. cornwall, ontario - it's nearly time for the annual pilgrimage to cornwall for thousands of jehovah's witnesses.. the faithful will start converging in cornwall on june 12 for the first of three watch tower conventions being held at the cornwall civic complex in the ed lumley arena.. altogether more than 7,500 delegates will be attending the three conventions, pumping in excess of $3.5 million dollars in economic benefits into the community, the city said monday.

Of course not fink. The one and only exception would be if there were a congregation with not enough men. There is "special provision" under those circumstances for women fo fill a variety of roles, up to handling the money (gasp!) but under no circumstance would they ever teach or hold an appointed position. And i have personally never been in a congregation where a women did anything other than sit her seat and clean after the meeting. They have let young kids (10 years old) carry a mike before they let a woman.

Consider it... Our all knowing all loving father hides from us even though we cry out to know him. One of his so called authoritatve works says he created us with a spritual need, defined as a need to know him.... And yet this being refuses to talk to us, even once, in the course of our lives. At best he expects us to look at the world around us and get a sense of him. Wouldnt this be akin to having children, giving them a house but never meeting them. Then when they are adults telling them they should love you and should have KNOWN you cared for them because the house they live in must have come from somewhere?

the whole concept is rediculious and yet to a billion people its everyday "logic".
