  Why I remain one of Jehovah's Witnesses

  allow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.

  i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.

  some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).

  BJ, i totally respect your right to kiss hanks ass. Personally, im 100% good with it and it dosent bother me in the least. Many of my family still kiss his ass and i love them just as i always have... The problem is your thread tittle didnt say you were still kissing hanks ass (worshipping jesus/god in some form or fashion), your thread says you are still one of the desert gods witnesses. You cant take the name without the beliefs. To identify yourself as a modern day witness of that particular deities mistranslated name identifies you with the watchtower bible tract society and all their requisite beliefs. You cant pick and choose and keep the name. So kiss hanks ass in any way that makes you happy, just be honest with yourself as you do it

  Young baptism a double standard with marriage?

  i remember tons of young ones getting counseled for being too young to date and for marriage.

  the elders said, "marriage is the 2nd biggest dedication of your life (baptism being 1st), at 20 you still don't know who you are or what you want.

  you can't possibly make a decision like that, that young!

  I would never it wouldnt happen.. Of course it will if they get haptised that young.. However it wont be a flood of 9 or even 10 year olds. It will really start at 14 or so.

  as long as shunning continues donations will be slow

  one of the reasons the watchtower is having problems with donations is because they have refuse to let go of wholesale across the board shunning.

  the average publisher is sick of it and jehovah is withholding his full blessing.

  when you do not show love to fellow humans you run the risk of not being able to show love which i'm turn has a direct relationship to your joy in turn if your not happy your not motivated to donate lots of money to and arrangement you perceive as unloving all you bethel lurkers convey this message to bro letters and rest of gb stop trying to convince fair minded people to support unloving shunning.

  I say it all the time.... End the shunning policy and 1/3 are gone immediately, another third in 2 years. It will never end. I think they know it would end the org as it stands today. It will never end.

  If you want to push this call that asshole on a specific fact: bethel (in the USA) purposly does NOT keep those records. Only the local congregation keeps the notes from the comittee. Turn the screws that way.... But under no circumstances would i suggest breaking and entering.

  hey everybody, been here lurking for years now... i tired of all the gb 2.0 shit and need to fade successfullydo we have a guide, i am very tempted to go out with a bang, but i want my wife with me, she aint a strong witness and would happily trust me ... i love her a lot.

  If you want to go out with a bang, that is is course your right and your choice... But "going out with a bang" and "fading" are two mutually exclusive things.

  Which do you want?

  going out with a bang is self explanitory. You will end up DF'd but its on your terms. If you dont have family who will shun you then who cares :)

  however if you need to or want to fade then the number one key is: patience. Absolute zen inner peace patience. Dont give into feelings of anxiety or a desire to run around screaming. You have the power. You are now in control because you know the real deal. Bide your time and be smart.

  Hi Lynne , welcome :)

  its not that i dont understand on some level but even if you filed a law suit and some how miraculously won, its not as if you could ever know for sure that they didnt make a copy of the records before turning them over to you, and ultimately, you cannot erase the minds of those that were involved.

  Its ok to be mad, we all go through varying degrees and stages of it. As you noted your not even sure why you want them.... It sometimes helps to try to articulate these things. The effort helps to identify your end goal... In this particular case, wanting to see your records is indicative of wanting to know what they said about you behind your back maybe even wanting to take some control from them.

  All understandable.... whatever you THINK they said, they probably did. But they wouldnt have written it in the official record. And you wont get any control back in a time consuming and ultimately doomed lawsuit . Spend some time here. It may help in way you cant yet imagine

  Wow... Yea there will be a write up on both. Im sure she lost the appeal (they are almost never granted). It will never be willingly given to her. A lawsuit is likely the only option.

  Why is she interested? Im assuming she knows why she was df'd even if she dosent agree..? What does she expect to find in the notes?
