  my motivation was not to "recruit" for the watchtower society.

  i thought i made it clear when i stated that i am no longer one of jehovah's witnesses anymore and that i am on your side.

  however, the impression i am getting is that no one is really understanding what i am getting at.

  What Kinds of Jobs Do JWs Have That You Know Of?

  i was thinking that most jws that i personally know have jobs that they really aren't happy with.

  almost no one is a professional except for one cardiologist that got baptized a few years ago.

  there's no one that's been raised in the "truth" that has a college education that i know of except one 22 year old young man who has done nothing to seek employment since he graduated.........any witnesses that you know of with great jobs?

  I know of two lawyers, a psychologist, a linguist, a medical researcher, and a historian. Agreed, they are rare ... btw, the linguist has left the WTS.

  firpo carr argues that while many white apostates claim to highlight so-called 'racist' remarks and terminology in the watchtower literature, most such apostates are in fact white and have little real interest in black issues.

  they are only interested in the issue in so far as they can use it to promote white anti-witness propaganda, whereas a high percentage of loyal witnesses are black.

  i know that all the terms of my topic are debatable: apostacy is a witness term of derogation; apostates probably are mostly liberal and not racist (essentially); and they are not a 'movement' in any case.

  Apart from the ethical problem of persecuting any religious minority - we are not talking about Al-Qaeda of Hamas - persecution of JWs will only confirm WTS doctrines. History has demonstrated that JWs persecution will lead to a more standfast position and increase of its membership.

  i was reading the recent posts on 2034 and was wondering... .

  the 1975 debacle left the fds scrambling for explanations for the mass exodus of r&f who were disillusioned by their bs.

  the pat answer has always been, "those people didn't keep pace with god's chariot" and they weren't "strong in the truth" and allowed something so "minor" to "stumble" them.

  i guess my new-found freedom of personal expression is working its way down to my kids.. i came home from a crazy day at work, ate my dinner, was loading the dishwasher, when my 13-year-old son says, .

  "mom, i have something to tell you - i'm bisexual...i've been that way for a year now.

  i still can't help but have my old jw brain at work, thinking this is not okay - kind of like, i'm an apostate with a bisexual son...what will my family say?!

  It will also depend on the relationship between you and your family. If they consider their commitment to the WTS of more importance than the bond with you, you may expect problems.
