  My bizarre last few days...

  so i basically spent last week hibernating with my english lit books and studying.

  i had 3 essays to finish (one left and i'm slacking horridly on it) and my final exam last saturday (i think i did reallly well!

  yay!).

  It took me a couple of years to get over the family not communicating thingy and then I realized...its them not me so to "sheol" with them all (for lack of a better JW word).

  What I'm saying is this :

  • They are the ones cutting us off
  • They are the ones with the problem
  • They are the ones who say that if you're not at the table with the JW Cult then your at the table of the Devil.

  The only way to get them out of the cult is to use every opportunity to expose the false prophets of the "truth".

  Sooner or later they will start to wonder why you are so adamant.

  Identity Cards ... good or bad idea?

  one of the questions in the uk at the moment is whether we shoudl have identity cards or not.. the government, who wants them, claims they will "help to prevent terrorism".

  spain and the usa both have identity cards and they have had big terrorist attacks.

  it's never been explained exactly how they will stop terrorists.. my personal opinion is that they are just another government play to control people, another form of tax (you can bet it will cost us to get them) and i have my doubts as to whether the government could run a large scale it project of that magnitude (given it's track record) and whether the estimated 3bn won't end up many years late and at least 10bn over-budget.

  In my country the 40 Million black South Africans were forced to carry a "pass book". If they were caught without it they were deported to some middle of nowhere hellhole camp and beaten and starved. This was in the glory days of the sick Apartheid era where influx control laws were used as a means to seperate families and stop movement.

  Nowadays we all have an ID book. It lets you register to vote for democracy and freedom. We have the freest democratic constitution in the world btw. Everyone is proud to have one ! Ask any of the 22 Million voters in our last election and they'll tell you how much it means to them to have such a book.

  It can be a good or an evil thing....just depends on what you want to do with it I suppose .

  OK this not sleeping thing has got to stop

  well it's not that i'm not sleeping - i am - just only 2-3 hours at a time.. when i try to stay awake i start feeling nauseous from the lack of sllep and have to go lie down.

  then sleep for a couple of hours then the pain in my feet starts up and i am awake.. i just spent the second whole night this week wide awake.

  then during the day i am falling asleep for two hours then awake for an hour and back to sleep.

  I was for several years a shift worker and learnt a few basic techniques.

  • Don't drink a lot of water before you go to bed at night. Your brain will trigger you after about 2-3 hrs to go to the bathroom.
  • No Cheese for dinner (indigestion will also wake you up)
  • No afternoon naps / cat naps/ tv couch naps ! ..it just breaks your routine.
  • Loose bed clothing,,,if you're a roller like me you'll twist all up and wake up to adjust and get comfortable.
  • Glass of water at the bedside (if your thirsty a uick sip close by is better than getting up).
  • NEITHER TOO HOT OR TOO COLD (another excuse to wake up)
  • No digital clocks (the display is bright and distracts you)
  • Ticking clocks (listening to the ticking is better than counting sheep)
  • Think about a novel you want to write (each night start at chpt 1...eventually you'll trigger your mind to shutdown at a point)
  • Cap the snorer..if your dog, cat or spouse snores...fix it !!! Theres nothing worse than listening to the cresendo and or gakking or breathing (I know this because my dear wife tells me when I do it.)

  PS I once took medication that contained some or other thingy that caused insomnia. The Doctor found a generic that didn't have the particular chemical in it...maybe worth exploring.

  i think many people remain as jws because they feel an isolation that spells security for them.

  they enjoy being in their protected bubble.

  the realization that they never have to make any real decisions is appealing.

  Minimus you've got a valid point ! Makes me think of an arguement I had with my folks before i was booted from the JW Cult.

  I asked them just to try to open their minds to the possibility that their beloved truth wasn't the truth.

  They replied that thats OK because at least being a JW you were protected from the evils of worldly people etc etc etc yada yad yada .

  Just goes to show that the BRAINWASHING of the WTBTS is so deeply entrenched they have figured out the lamest reasoning imaginable and 6 million suckers buy it.

  At least the Millions (do the math) that are DF'd, DA'd and Faded are in the majority. They have figured out the cult trappings fo the "truth"

  Work Experience Brings Back Strange Memories ...

  so we all know that growing up in the organization can truly screw you up ... i am living proof.

  but what happened today is over the top .... i am a school teacher.

  i know of this situation involving two step-brothers (9 and 10 years old) who live together.

  When I was part of that evil cult it was often my duty to take a head count at the KH. I would count all inside, and then just peek out the door for those parents thrashing their newborns outside !!

  I recall a little boy of about 4 yrs old who's father threathen to "f*ck him up" with a garden hose lying outside on the KH lawn. The little boy fell to his knees and started to pray: "Please Jehovah Save me". The father saw me and just laughed it off.

  For that little boy it was a defining moment in his life...he knew that from that day forward, his father is trash and the KH is a torture pit from hell ! What did I do about it then...nothing,,why because I was a loyal cult card carrying member and probably thought the little screamer deserved it. Now I am sickened by the thought of it. If I could find that father today I would use that same technique on him and teach him how to pray !

  Nadsam..hates all spanking, believes it is sign of sickness (if you love your pet you wouldn't hurt it but because youre sick you beat your kid, why ...are pets better than your own flesh and blood ??!?!)

  DFing and The Data Protection Act.

  i remeber hearing a couple of years back that if an organistion has any information held on you and you request to view it they have to show it to you.

  has any one asked to see the information held on their dfing ?

  also has any one asked for the infomation to be destroyed, which, i think the org would have to do as well.

  Hi

  I have posted on this topic before, but here is my understanding on the subject once again.

  The JC that DF'd you sends a report to the Service Desk and keeps a report on file for ever. Also if ever you decide to return to the Borg and lets say you have moved , even as far as overseas for example, the new Congregation you're in will contact the congregation where you were DF'd. They will then post them your file. If they are near enough the same Elders will even be invited to come and be part of the einstatement JC.

  IN OTHER WORDS...YOU CANNOT EVER BE ERASED.

  Forget about trying to get your records....its the only bit of crap they have left to hold over your head if you return...which you shouldn't

  Calling all Elders..

  when you were an elder what sucked most....conducting the schoolconducting the book studyconducting the wt study (having to listen to sister know it all answer over and over...)giving public talks (trying to squeeze sense out of a one page summary of total crap)being an attendant at assembliesbeing food/cleaning/work overseer at assemblies & quickbuildsauditing the finances/paying in contributions at the banktaking the lead in unassigned territory serviceshepherding calls !!!!!

  !jc'sget togethers and having to pray !praying at the khserving the emblemsgiving counsel at the school/weaklings/youth(e.g young sisters wearing mini skirts & makeup)being always positive about the "new light" and the gb.training young msworking with the circuit overseer when he visited (on saturday afternoons)giving a "special needs talk"never being able to fart, swear or loose your tempercompelled to having missionary sex, not enjoy it and never discuss it..even with your wife, just incase it may be immoralnever seeing any good movieshaving one beer a fortnight .

  • Conducting the Book Study

  • Praying at the KH

  • Being always positive about the "New Light" and the GB.

  • Working with the Circuit Overseer when he visited (on Saturday Afternoons)
  • Giving a "Special Needs Talk"
  • Never being able to fart, swear or loose your temper
  • Compelled to having missionary sex, not enjoy it and never discuss it..even with your wife, just incase it may be immoral
  • Never seeing any good movies
  • Having one beer a fortnight
