ok as you have gathered im a wittness and i for one beleave we have the truth.not saying every thing is or has all ways been right because we live in a imperfect world with imperfect people.but as far as jehovah being god and jesus being his son.and the coming war of arrmegeddon.i would say we have the truth.i no about all the mistakes and misunderstandings we have had in the past.but i feel that is past and we have moved on.and abandoned i no what you all say about the year 607 being wrong but that date all deapends on it desolation was 70 years or not.so im just trying to understand how some of you say you lernt you was being lied to?

Date calculation and verification makes my head hurt...The proof though is in the permenant world changes that began in 1914.

The freedom taught by Jesus has been pushed aside for endless so-called "Bible Principles" that have returned God's people back to the Law Code and enslaved them to men. Matthew 15: 3 - 9 and Mark 7: 7 and 8, ie: "Dress and Grooming" etc...etc...etc...

My Profile: Hello ~ Like most everyone here I have a story to tell, I have wounds and I have anger. You'll notice from my posts I am PRO God and Bible Truth and ANTI Cult/Organization. I believe the Witnesses are God's people and have the primary truths about God and His purposes correct, but like the Israelites of Jesus day, the Witnesses, begining with their leaders, have left the love Christ laid out for us and are 'lording it over His congregation.' I also believe the Governing Body to be lead by those Slaves that are Unfaithful/Evil and have been beating Jesus's congregation. The beating the Evil Slave Class has been giving to both their 'fellow slaves' and the 'menservants and maidsevants' (IMO since Russell's passing) comes in the form of dealing with the congregation in an very oppressive, heavy handed way, conditioning everyone to be afraid, causing them to constantly gauge themselves against the 'Organizationally Correct' views thus making them restrained in their thinking, their speech and their behavior. The Unfaithul Slave is constantly manipulating and controling God's people with Guilt and Fear while deliberately confusing their thinking with Self Doubt, forcing them to live unnessasarily small lives purely based on their own pridefull reasoning. They also have taken the individuality of everyone away, leaving them only as empty shells of the persons they once were. They also see things in the Bible that aren't there then teach and mandate them as Divine Truths and Commands. - I'm a divorcee and father of two. I was baptized in 75 faded in and out over the years then stopped attending the Hall completely in 2002 after wrongly being the subject of a Marking Talk. I still worship Jehovah but as an INDIVDUAL. I live by the standards of God and His Son and not those of elitist men. Although I'm not DF'd or DA'd (yet) I am shunned by all as if I am and by my children as well. PM's welcome.

is it killing 42 children because they called prophet elisha a bald headed man (which he probably was, so they did ot even lie)?.

is it killing 70000 innocent israelites because the king david does a counting of the people?

(it is hard to keep the numbers right if the fluctuate so much).

oh yes i know jah forgives me, its the f and d slave that have it wrong and yet dont care obviously theyd stop ruining peoples lives!
Its confusing when we regularly see unfaithful behavior from those who constantly tell us they are 'faithful.'

IMO, those who keep telling us they are the Faithful Slave are (and have been) the Evil Slave.

Possibly not, their argument sounds plausable but I'm not totaly convinced of it...we'll see.

"The Truth" as defined how? Has EVERYTHING the Governing Body ever taught in modern times been correct and from God and His Son? ...I don't think so, there is much 'human' reasoning and human laws/traditions being forced on the cogregation...starting from the Apostle Paul.
These are the Witness doctrines I believe are "truth":
Jehovah is not a trinity.
Jesus is God's first creation.
The Angelic rebellion is the source of all our troubles.
The Great Tribulation and Armageddon are literal and coming.
God will use the worlds governments to destroy world religion.
The Thousand Year reign is real.
The Resurrection is the only hope for the majority of the dead.
The Little Flock will become a literal Heavenly Government.
Satan and his Demons have a finite time to exist and will be terminated.

These are my two main disagreements with the JW's:
I believe their acceptance of the Bible as God's word in every way is incorrect.
and...
I believe the GB's emphasis of the OT and their advancing the teachings and 'opinions' of the Apostle Paul over Christ's is a GROSS ERROR.

If they used NT scriptures too much, these great crowd (GC) or other sheep (OS) members of the rank and file might start thinking that those words were written to them rather than just to those who hope to rule in heaven with Christ.

It wouldn't surprise me Blondie...I never accepted their view fully, the NT has obviously always been written for all. Its a conciet of the Evil Slave to say it ONLY applies to the annointed.

The 06 prophecies are funny, yet I do believe we are going to see the End...how many more years I couldn't guess, but I do believe it will happen in our lifetime.

i think that every one on this site goes way over the top calling jehovahs wittnesses names you spend more time trying to prove them wrong than you do prasing god.i mean is this your purpose in life.if you no more about the bible than the wittnesses then go straght a head and speak.but dont act like a spoiled brat calling people names.a lot of people on this site will belevae what they want to beleave because it suits there lifestyle lets get to the root of whats realy in your hearts

Then you haven't been paying much attention at the Hall. The love they show is strictly conditional, it is only toward those like themselves and Christlike in name only.

The teachings of Christ are barely mentioned while the endless emphasis on the Old Testament and so-called 'bible principles' are used continualy to oppress and enslave the people.

These two statements show the depth and the success the WTS has had in programming the congregations. And Blondie's absolutely right, they have taken the place of God and His Son...to whom they will answer to.

What would be some low-key, situation-appropriate responses?

"Not now, I just lost my Grandmother...we'll talk another time." (perhaps deflect it back to them with questions) "When do you think this system will end? ...Will it be long before the ressurection??" Get them talking and "expressing their faith" and supporting and encouraging you in this time of grief.
