One current treatment for depression being explored in positive psychology right now is a thankfulness journal. Each day you are supposed to write down 3 things that you are thankful for or that made you smile. It works because it gets you spending your day thinking about all the good things rather than the bad. For some people it was just as effective as anti-depressants.

so three weeks ago my wife and i had an emotional discussion wherein i finally told her that this religion was not the truth.

there was much emotion, a chill has ensued in our relationship.

(i haven't been to a meeting in 4 months now, and have not reported time in two months) i am sure many of you know the drill.. towards the end of our conversation, she asks: but what do i tell the friends when they ask about you?.

How about the truth rather than "the truth"? So and so doesn't go to meetings anymore but he's doing well. It's like you are an embarassing secret she is trying to explain, call her on it. Everyone is accountable to god on their own so why does she feel she answers to "the friends" for you?

2. Avoid ads if possible, minimal banner ads if necessary, no popups.
3. Background lighter color than the text, no background patterns
4. Use a font that is readable rather than fancy
5. Easy navigation - links back to the main page and any subcategories, clearly identify all links

Education Talk from Follow the Christ DC

justitia themis had a topic 'disgusting comment re: education from tacoma 2007 district convention' regarding a talk on education that those pursuing degrees would be d.e.a.d.

unfortunately that stupid comment was not made at the dc i attended, but i am providing the audio to let ones know how far the society is going in discouraging ones from pursuing college by using weak and tired arguments.. http://www.box.net/shared/s523re4c7i.

There were a lot of brains in university even first year that didn't drink, party or socialize. There were 2 guys on my floor I wasn't sure if anyone lived in those rooms. One day I saw a guy leaving the room and it was a big ah ha moment as I realized it was inhabited. Couldn't tell you his name not sure I saw him even at the required floor meetings or in the caf. He was on my wing as well and that was only about 20-25 people. If they are that worried there is always off campus housing. Save "party" neighborhoods that is often a very quite and secluded life, part of the reason why the recommend first years stay in dorms instead so they get more chance to socialize.
