  The reason is #2(sort of)

  Going in pairs, as we all know, is practiced by all JW's so that when we are talking to a householder, they don't have time to figure out the gobbledygook that one witness uses before the other one hits them with another bit of "Truth". Elders use the same tactic on their visits so a publisher never has a chance to see which way the conversation is going, thereby becoming so confused, that before they know it,the elders have them tap dancing like crazy.

  mrs ozzie and i have spent a very happy time with friends from the australian navy and enjoyed a fine meal at a really fine vietnamese restaurant up "in the big smoke".

  I learned that the WBTS is a clean organization, which I now know is a bald faced lie.

  I learned that the WBTS is a worldwide brotherhood where equality is practiced and nurtured, only some are more equal than others.

  I learned that the WBTS encourages all to strive to be better servants of god, just don't get too much better or else.

  I learned that the WBTS reminds us to "READ YOUR BIBLE DAILY", just don't believe it unless the Society approves it.

  I learned that the WBTS quotes James 4:8 "Draw close to God and He'll draw close to you" and then displays blatant and unadaulterated hypocrisy by completely ignoring the scripture.

  For the record, I oppose war at any time and in any place. That being said I also understand that there are times when military conflicts are not only inevitable but also necessary. The war in Iraq, I believe, is not one of those times. There are those who disagree with me and not only do I respect that viewpoint, I accept it and thus far, none of my friendships have been affected. Although I know nobody here personally, I hope someday to meet some and have the assurance that my viewpoints would not jeopardize any affections for one another.

  Good morning all,

  It's early morning here on the West Coast of Canada (2:30) and I'm up answering a poll. Mrs. alfie is having an affair with the sandman so I thought I'd let them be alone. Anyway, to the poll!

  #3 is definitely #1 on the list. Without hours you're a shmoozer and that doesn't go over well at HQ. So you gotta have hours, and the more you can make up make,the better. So I'd be minute pinching all month just to get my quota. This is why #6 is a very good second place finisher. RV's can really chalk up the hours. Even a cuppa was a good excuse for pumping up the old Service Report. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

  This response is based on phases of my life as a witness.

  When I first became a witness my reason would be #5- I really believed it was a scripturally directed decree, and as I was the head of a family, I was required to take the lead in this matter, so #6 applied. As time went on I desired to reach out for greater " priveleges" and the requirement for an MS and elder required that I continue to be active in service, which I believe is covered by #1. When the realization that the whole life we were living was based on lies and deceit, I only went out to avoid getting the dreaded "Shepherding Call"(#3). The rest, as they say, is history.

  BTW : We (the missus and I) sure enjoy everybody's posts. It's good for morale. Thank you all.

  The life they stole from me

  i have just come across this website and was amazed to read to many similar experiences to what i went through with the 'loving' congregations of jehovah's witnesses.

  i have now been gone 4 years but after reading some experiences i realise that the pain they caused still remains.

  i am now quite angry at the way they control your life and brainwash you - i am so glad i finally saw what was happening and got out.
