I beleive that the reason for calling themselves the "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's WItnesses" has to do with many people thinking JWs are not Christian. Of course JWs are as Christian as those who attend main stream "Christian" religions. The difference is that JWs put emphasis on Jehovah and not Jesus and don't subscribe to the idea that Jesus was God in the flesh.

I'm not sure if people are born hamsexual or not but I know that Jews and Muslims alike beleive hamsesuals are deserving of death. My advice regarding hamsexuals is "don't ask and don't tell. Also if we find out someone is a hamsexual we must be careful to respect them as having an alternative eating habit.

I believe Prince is a baptized JW. Hip replacement is surgery that many JWs have had and without blood. I think Prince will not be treated any differently than the rank & file in this regard. If he accepted a blood transfusion everyone would find out and if the WTS didn't DF him they would be shooting themselves in the foot.

Are you actually serious? GWB has spent us into a probable recession. Nooooo, he hasn't taxed us, but our children certainly will be. Wake up and look at the spending of Republicans in our lifetime. You have been bamboozled by soundbites.
Not defending GWB at all. The republicans are almost as bad as the democrats when it comes to taxing and spending. The fair tax is not a quick fix for our economic woes since they have been built up over several decades. However it is the start on the road of economic prosperity since it encourages investment and the movement of corporations back to the USA (corporate income tax is also eliminated). Also it takes a lot of power out of the hands of politicians and lobbyists and puts it back where it belongs, which is with the people who buy things.

How far back can we trace civilization? It appears to me that whenever man first appeared civilization began (building, writing, intellectual endeavors, etc.).
Hmmm, I'm not completely sure, but I think I remember reading in college that, through mitochondrial DNA, all modern humans can be traced back to a single woman in Africa who lived about 100,000 years ago.
Just like those scientists to say that the mother of humanity was unwed.

OMG - I did it - I told my Mom and Dad how I feel...
by Princess Daisy Boo inmy mom and dad came round today and we ended up at the local mall with my hubby and kids having lunch.
after lunch my hubby went home with the kids and i stayed on with my folks to do some shopping.
as we were driving home, i pointed out my son's new school, and we were discussing the merits of private vs. public schools etc, and mom says "i just hope that by the time the kids get to highschool that the end has come, and you and the family are in the truth".. i mumbled something about having my doubts.

Congratulations! Most likely your mother will go into a state of denial. Most Witnesses (my wife included) will not hold the organization accountable for any of the wrong and hypocritical things they have done and/or are doing. The sin is that we know these things and not that the WTS has done them.

Smoking = Disfellowshiping is it justified?? Do you do it now?
by Witness 007 inisn't smoking just as bad as "defiling the body our temple" with alcohol or drugs legal or illegal?
if i have glucoma will i be disfellowshiped if i smoke pot, since it is a doctor perscribed treatment?
those who smoke how do you justify ruining your health and finances?.

I have a problem with the question.
Being disfellowshipped is in many ways a gift of good health. To be separated from the WTBS is a good thing.
Smoking is not a gift of good health. Therefore there is a bit of a disconnect with the question.
Ok Oracle I see your point! The best of all worlds is to not smoke and to be disfellowshipped for something else.

About age 70, he went through several medical treatments for intestinal cancer. He went through more than one operation in 1941, but never fully recovered. He died in San Diego, California on January 8th, 1942 at the age of 72. His funeral was attended by four people, none of whom were related to him.
It is not just that his wife and son didn’t attend his funeral but neither did many of the brothers from Bethel. Says a lot about the man doesn’t it?
