Animals in the New System
by Bulldog inhas there been previous discussions on the nature of animals in the new system?
most people seem to think that the animals will suddenly become completely different than they are today.
lions and tigers will eat hay, not meat, etc, but if you think about animal natures and the perfect system that exists in the animal food chain, it doesn't make sense.. what would a horse be if it had no fear of predators?

The best time I had as a kid sitting in the KH was sitting with my cousins and drawing gapped teeth on the faces of characters in the mags and books, with bubbles over there heads saying silly things to eachother. It was a temporary release from the solomn crap. We would simply laugh our asses off silently, shaking like jello in our seats, until mom or aunt esther would threaten us with beatings, lol.
Mostly, I was just constantly afraid to be myself around the JW's. I never really laughed or had much of a good time around the witnesses, unless it was an unsanctioned youth party at someone's house. I had a best friend, James, and we would hang out alot. He was awsome, and while he is inactive for years now, he still can't bring himself to talk to me or even have a scotch with me which is both our fav cocktail. So sad.
All I remember about being a Witness was the anger and the fear of rejection and being alone if I ever strayed. Since I did stray, I have never had better or more real relationships with people. I found real love and warmth in my wife and my life as an XJW.

The Preaching Work: A Colossal Waste of Time
by Scully in.
many people who post here have had similar experiences to my own: x number of years going door-to-door, informal witnessing, placing books, magazines, doing return visits, but having no one ever come into the truth?
by virtue of their efforts.. members of my own family who are still jws similarly have nothing to show for their trouble of regularly engaging in the ministry over many years (decades, actually).. any guesstimates out there as to how much of your life you wasted participating in the preaching work?

Well, new ones are coming into the org somehow. Somebody out there is starting Bible studies and bringing the minds of worldly folks into harmony with the WTBTS's dogma.
While the many hours I spent in the field ministry proved, for the most part, to be fruitless, I was actually instrumental in bringing a couple of new ones into the org, and I wish to apologize profusely to them, but one of them is my exwife, therefore I should actually apologize to my children. I was a true believer and a hell of a salesman; what can I say?
I am sure you have noticed, if you have ever had any direct sales training, that, the service meetings are designed to teach Witnesses how to be better peddlers of the Watchtower. Tried and proven sales methods are taught to everyone who attend the meetings, and demonstrations and roleplaying is utilized in the ministry school just as in sales training meetings, but just like any other sales company out there, some are just no good at it and prefer to be "order takers" not "closers", but order takers simply don't get paid what the closers do. Some are just naturals at it and have success in starting Bible studies. Just as in sales, the art of closing the deal becomes "the thing" and something of an addiction. "I close, therefore, I am". Whether it is simply the thrill of getting a WT or other publication into the hands of a householder, or starting a Bible study, or bringing the new one to the point of baptism, it is a challenge, a thrill and an obsession.
Just an observation . . .

THEY REALLY ANCHORED YOUR HEAD WITH NONSENSE
by ese inyo - do u see yourself - obsessing about the wtbts or whatever the hell they call themselves - all this beautiful intellect spent on thoughts of an alleged abuser u all allegedly left - oh my - free yourselves - you didn't leave - u r all in this funky stage of mourning and hatred and realization that not all lovers are true - but, forgive my rambling - i have a question here, what do you think they did to mess with your minds so much that u r still obsessing?

It could be that there's a reason why You joined in, and also that now You aren't as effected.
There's the point, and well said.

" . . . Needless to say it was an experience that I will never forget. Now I can think for myself again. " (Puternut)
I was born and raised in "the Truth", so I am now, for the first time ever, thinking for myself.
I was of course a true believer; didn't know anything else.

I'm stupid, whats the biggest mistake you've ever made?
by dustyb inso who all here makes mistakes?
my single biggest mistake was being born...otherwise i'd have to say that my biggest mistake was taking up a hobby in extreme sports such as riding motorcycles and mountain bikes down buzy streets, and skateboarding.
doing all of this while i have a bone disease that severely limits my mobility now and in the future..... also posting my previous topic was retarded =d

Yes, bud, give the harshness with yourself a rest. While I am sure we all can daily look around at some people in this world and think, "stupid", it takes all the fun out of it when someone willingly cops to it. (JUST KIDDING) But yes, my friend, you should know and accept your limitations, we all should, until you can find a modified or safer way to enjoy those types of activities. I admire your gumpshun.
I think I have yet to make my biggest mistake, but we will see. To date, my biggest screw-up was getting married to an ignorant kook the first time around. Neither I, nor my wonderful kids, will never have a moments rest until that lady is on permanent life support.

How to take down the WTS. Maybe for good.
by avishai ini just heard the most brilliant plan ever.
we draft an all purpose legal document to send to the wts stating that "i,__________ do not want any jw's ever coming to my door, please put me on the do not call list and send this to the congregation nearest me, if they do, i will construe this as harrasment and act accordingly" .
then we pass these out, do a mass mailing, give them to all of our friends, encourage people to make copies and give them to their friends, call it the sleep in on saturday document.
