  regardless for how one feels about the situation surrounding terri schiavo, this will be a landmark case in american history, politically, religiously, as well as within the medical profession.

  to put this woman to death in the manner for which is being done, is inhumane and ungodly.

  criminals on death row are afforded a more deserving death than she has been given.

  So do you think that lethal injection by choice should be legal...or is this some sort of aggressive resistance that you are pitching?

  Terri Schiavo and her husband have two choices right now, option 1 - sustain her life through a feeding tube or option 2 - take the tube out. Lethal injection is not a legal option. If you were in that situation, and those were your only two choices, what would you pick? Terri Schiavo had already expressed that she did not want option 1. You are proposing a third option which is not in place right now and is a completely seperate discussion about what should be done with Terri Schiavo.

  Is there a single person on this entire planet who would want to remain alive confined to a bed as a vegetable? Anyone? Then why does everyone insist we go against her wishes and keep her alive? Some say starvation is cruel and I agree, but I certainly don't see lethal injection getting legalized anytime soon. So if I had a choice, pull the tube...can you find a single person that would rather keep the tube?

  And a few posts back someone was offended by the repeated analogies to the life of a dog. The reason people are using this analogy is because a Rep Senator was stupid enough to use it in his speech saying that in some states it is illegal to NOT feed a dog so we should feed Terri Schiavo. We OWN dogs. No one OWNS Terri Schiavo, respect her wishes.

  I sit, day in, day out, hoping that something will change the womans course in life, and daily I have been disappointed, I sit here imagining the Hell that surely she must be experiencing, no food, no water, starving her to death, as all who side with her husband wait for her demise. It is in-human.

  Were you sitting, day in, day out for the last 15 years thinking about the Hell she must have been going through lying there in a vegetative state?

  It really bothers me that the media and the government want to be invovled in such a personal family decision.

  I went...quite boring. It has always struck me funny how all the elders who pass the emblems around go and sit back down and the speaker passes it along their row. They just finished passing them around the whole KH! It's funny all the unscriptural superstitions about it...like the elders must be sitting when they pass the emblems, when they are standing it doesn't count. And since we are just observing the memorial, why is it absolutely necessary that EVERYONE actually touches and passes the plate and glass. Why don't they just invite any anointed to come sit on stage and partake and we can all watch.

  Also, is it just me or does it seem like the anointed has been hovering around 8,500 for about forever!?!? Don't these old people die? Anyone have any statistics handy on what the numbers were years ago?

  He's a nut and a gifted artist. Have no idea about the molester part, and I think it is silly to come to a conclusion unless you are involved in the case or able to attend the hearings.

  He also said he was the devil, so as others, I see no connection to his actions and the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses. The guy is a complete nut, plain and simple, whether he was a JW or not...

  however, when there's a mix of radical religious doctrine ( coming from the girl )

  I don't think the radical religous doctrine was an influence. If she was dating a guy claiming to be the devil, she was obviously not active as a JW or concerned with following their teachings.

  I sense a great ignorance about economics on this board.

  CRR - I'll have to admit that economics continually baffles me. But you proposing that liberals are afraid of hard work is ridiculous and a typical stereotype. Similar things are said about minorities simply because they make up the lowest economy ranks, which is equally ridiculous.

  People are not AFRAID to work two or three jobs...they are AFRAID of not seeing their family or getting to enjoy life while they have it. This is not simply about unemployment numbers and social security. This country has an ever increasing gap between the poor and the rich that is very disturbing.

  Social Security is a socialist safety net which I have no problem contributing to. To me the idea of privatizing it goes along with everything else Bush has done. It matches the obvious values he was given being raised as a rich boy. Social Security is to help those who were not able to help themselves. The people who it helps the most are those that were not able to invest money wisely or climb to the top (or even get on the ladder to begin with) and have a decent retirement. If you privatize it and let them invest it themselves, what do you think will happen? They'll mismanage the money, no doubt, which is why they need social security in the first place. Social Security is especially for people who NEED HELP, who are not the best at making money or investing it for the future. Privatizing it is simply telling them they are on their own.

  I wonder what would have happened if we could have taken a slice of the cost of the War in Iraq and put it to Social Services? Oh wait, then the terrorist boogeymen would get us. Phew! Good thing we have a brave man like W to protect us.

  Good luck Jared, I hope it works. One thing to consider, having a beard might slow down the reinstatement. They might look at it as being rebellious and unrepentant. If you are serious about getting reinstated as quickly as possible so you can fade, you might think of losing the beard for a while. Even better yet, start going to the meetings with the beard and then shave it after the elders notice your attendance. This might make them feel more inclined to view you as repentant. Your dad sounds like a good guy, I hope you can keep your family.

  I have to agree with a Christian. I am not a firm believer in the bible, but in this case John is speaking of a later time period after the baptism and in vs 32 simply gives testimony that he was present at the baptism and saw the Spirit descend. The rest of the chronology of ch1 and 2 seems to be at a later time period.

  The CO probably changed it out of fear that the WT HQ would overturn their decision. In the bigger picture, they are pushing for pioneers and would have probably told them to let it slide.
