If I ever have kids, I will teach them what other people believe God to be, and then explain that nobody really knows for sure, and because I do not know for sure, I cannot tell them exactly because God is many different things to many different people. I will give them the tools they need to navigate the bullshit, and tell them that when they grow up they will be able to make their own descision.

(1) Ask someone that has a copy to send your a copy or rip and ISO and file transfer the resulting ISO file so you can burn your own. This is entirely permitted by the BS CD's creator.
Does anyone have a copy of the ISO they can send me via www.yousendit.com or something similar? Drop me a PM, thanks!

Are JW's no part of the world...? I think not!
by dh indoesn't it make you laugh when you see jw's preaching to themselves that they are no part of the world and should not have any part in the world, one foot in the world and one foot with jehovah cannot work.. the question is, if jw's want no part of the world, why do they wear clothes made by worldly people, drive cars designed and made by worldly people, work for worldly people, eat food produced by worldly people, sit on toilets that were designed by worldly people, live in cities and society built and created by worldly people, in fact why do they partake in everything the world offers except a few hand picked things?
how can you claim to be 'no part of the world' when you live, breath, eat sleep, drive, fly, live in and everything else as part of it, using the tools that world provides... how can driving a worldy made car and eating worldly made food and all of the above be classed as being no part of the world?.
if jw's really wanted no part of the world, they would live like hamish, but as with everything else jw, they give a thing a name that it is not, they say they want no part in the world, yet i doubt even the bricks, hard seats and green carpets in their kingdom halls were made by anyone but worldly people... .

Do they not see that the world which they speak against so strongly and claim to be no part of is the same world on which they depend on completely to survive.

We love you dearly but our loyalty belongs to Jehovah.
This makes me want to be so sick, I find it tough to imagine what that must be like. If my family said that to me, I would laugh at them cynically as I tend to do, tell them their god can burn and I would never call them again. To be honest I would block them completely even if they hinted at shunning me, but I am pretty sure that will never happen as they are cool now, so yes, I'm lucky, but I feel for you in this situation. I look at it like this... They brought you into this world, the one they profess to hate, yet they would rather be loyal to something else other than their own flesh and blood. People like this should be beaten severely.

So What Sort Of Woman Is "Queen" Camilla?

Wives become Queens through marriage, Husbands never become Kings through marriage. Husbands married to a bona fide Queen become Dukes, Princes and Consorts, but never Kings.
husbands married to bonda fide queens become bitches! prison style.
good luck to prince charles, i like him and always have.

Not Having Kids in 'This System....'
by lonelysheep inone of my former bs conductors and her husband decided when they got married, they wouldn't have any kids 'in this system'.
i know the world could be better, but i see no reason not to have children if that's what your wishes really are....and you're able to for that matter.
she just turned 34 and really wants to have a child.
-
dh
yeah, i know some j dub missionaries who decided not to have kids because of of 'the work'... it's sad really, they will never get to see their children grow up and leave the org, ha ha ha.

I'm thinking of going back
by Smoky inover the weekend my cousin came to visit from mi, and her husband (elder) started to do his shepperding thing with me (have not attended meetings for over 1 year), and made a compeling argument about how the holy spirit is given by god only if you attend meeting and go to field service...etc, etc.
and the whole "faith and works" issue.
it was a different angle that i have never heard before, about me being a "instrument or tool" of god...blah, blah, blah... anyhow, it got me thinking about going back...especially when things are not going to well for me right now... (he said its because i left jehovah).. how can i convince myself that this is not true?
-
dh
No offence but when people say shit like you just posted, it annoys me. It's nothing personal against you, it's just that personality type. If you want to go back, then go back. If you don't, don't. It's your choice. If you can't convince yourself either way, i.e. you need JW's to convince you to join them, or Ex JW's to convince you not to... Well, if that's the case you're an idiot, sheep, whatever the word is, if you can't make your own mind up on what YOU want to do with YOUR life, you are a prime candidate for being a JW.
I don't mean to sound offensive, just do what YOU want. So what if you don't live forever. Better to live the life you know you have than waste it hoping for one that may never happen.

What's it like?, The preaching work in your area Track this topic | Email this topic | Print this topic
twylite Posted: Jan 4 2005, 06:57 AM
Unregistered Hello, my dear brothers and sisters! :D
I am really curious about how the preaching work is accepted in your area. Where are you from and what is it like to go and preach Jehovah's word there. Are people reaponsive or are they apathetic?
In the territory I am in (Saskatchewan, Canada) it all depends where you are. In the town I live in, there is a lot of apathy. It is a HUGE catholic community and the town actually go to their church, so they tend not to want to talk to Jehovah's people. We have a lot of First Nation reservations in Saskatchewan, and I really enjoy working in them, the people are much more layed back and are usually wiling to talk. There seems to be more intrest amoung the people there. It is so encouraging. I can't wait to see what everyone else wrote!!

Joined: 28-December 04That's really cool to hear that and really great topic!....the service here, (Tacoma, Washington) is not bad at all. A lot of younger people (late teens, early twenties) are interested from my personal experience which is still surprising to me lol. Place most literature at bus stops and gas stations though personally. But also get yelled at a bit at gas stations and homes lol. But good overall. twylite Posted: Jan 5 2005, 07:16 AM Unregistered That is nice to hear that it is enjoyable to preach in your area. I have never done street witnessing or anything like that, but I guess I'll have to start. It seems that the approach work is full of all kinds of rewards.
