  well has i have posted in the past i never got baptized, the reason was more out of guilt that i was not good enough to belong to this elite org.

  of christians i felt i would be a hypocrite if i was going out with wordly friends and then going out in service and giving talks so i avoided baptism at an early age.

  that is the problem with the org.

  ALL BLACK TO ME

  i don't know about other parts in the u.s. but here in chicago i went to a circuit assembly last year in romeoville and it seemed that 85% of those in attendance where black the speakers,volunteers,and those in attendance there were so few white people,i am not a racist but it just seemed so odd because i remember when i was younger it was the other way around is it true in cities and is the wts attracting more black followers?

  The elderly

  i feel for the elderly who have put all thier hopes in the society and now really have no one to turn to.my mom is reaching 70 and was converted in the late 60s she still believes it is the truth but i think because she has nowhere else to go i think it is true also for all the elderly in the hall i bet some still believe some of the old doctines and have no idea about the new ones but are still hanging on because they feel thier is nowhere else to go, they basically sacrifsied thier lifes for the organazation.

  THE GOOD OLD DAYS?

  i was wondering if the witnesses still get together and study the watchtower as a group before the sunday meetings i remember in the old days this was very common, also picnics at the forest preserves evrybody seemed to be upbeat helping each other out with either rides to the meetings or wedding and baby showers .other than the hassel we got at school things weren't that bad.

  i haven't been to a meeting for awhile and was wondering if it is all the same.

  can a baptized witness attend a wedding or a funeral of a relative or loved one if it is in a place of worship other than a kingdom hall,is there a penalty for that?

  MY SHORT BACKGROUND

  well i must say that i am glad that i found this site it is amazing all the things that i found that i have in common,it seems that the same problems and feelings are the same all over.

  i can remember growing up as a jw although i never got baptized all the hypocrisy in the congregation especially amongst the elders children they were worse than the wordly children at school,we tried hard to stick to the truth my mom was a single mom and she did her best to raise us in the truth my mom is still in but as never given me any pressures i will attend an occasional meeting but that is about it, it seemed that everybody was always waiting for you to stumble or do somthing bad so that they could gossip anways this is my story in short, the jws are definetly a tough club to belong to although in the beginning they make everything look so rosy.

  what is everybodys feelings out there about armagedon is it all garbage or is god's judgement day coming one day.i know the witnesses always use this as their pitch to keep you in,but is all that doom that is in revelation for our future or what?

  hello everybody i am a new member and was asking if the members think that the promise of god's kingdom and the ressurection mentioned in the bible are just sales pitches used by the witnesses or if this is really mankinds only hope we have.
