  Do you ever think that you will stop JW-bashing and get on with your life?

  i was recently talking to a girl in my psychology class who told me that she use to be a jw and was df'd in the mid 1990's.

  this girl shocked me because usually ex-jws are so unhappy and miserable and spend most of their time complaining about the "evil" wt society.

  she told me that when she was df'd alot of ex-jws swarmed towards her trying to get her to "bash" the wt but she refused.

  "Bashing" to me has always meant an action that was un-fair or un-warranted.

  I hardly see how the word "bashing" even applies to what we feel about the WTBTS.

  They are responsible for real DEATHS of REAL people all over this globe by leading people to believe that blood tranfusions, organ transplants, political issues and even telling their followers that vaccinations actually gave disease in the past.

  My mother and thousands of others are dead and in their graves, because of being mis-led by this cult.

  THAT IS NOT "BASHING", THAT IS TELLING THE REAL TRUTH !

  As far as "going on with our lives," yes if it's possible for someone to do that...great. I wish that for everyone, especially me.

  HOWEVER, as long as my own children shun me, I have a responsibility...I helped teach this shitty religion to them ans as long as there is life in my body, I will try, out of love for them...to plant seeds of doubt in them. It is a mission for me to try and un-do something I ignorantly passed on to another generation.

  I want it to stop here, don't you ?

  Was John Denver the Anti-Christ?

  when i was a kid in the seattle area in the late '70's, i heard this rumor told many times: before all his concerts, john denver would ask if there were any jehovah's witnesses present, and then ask them all to leave(of course whoever was telling the story knew of someone who had experienced this first hand).

  also, johnny carson confronted him about it on the tonight show once(carson often figured into the jw/celebrity rumours i heard as a kid), and when denver admitted that it was true, johnny asked him to leave.

  apparently, several witnesses worked on his show and this greatly offended him.

  I loved John Denver's music all thru my younger days as a JW and I still do. Because of his 'pro-environment' stance many JW's I knew were always sending him WT magazines & books. They thought he was just 'ripe' for the Truth because of the Paradise Earth.

  I don't think this is anything but -- an Urban Legend.

  how does the witness one go to the meetings and out in service....and how do you the poor apostate bastard go to apostafests and stuff?

  i joined the meetup thing for dallas/plano area xjws a while ago.

  i haven't checked it out in a while...since the only meeting i ever saw planned on that site was canceled.

  anyhoo, i got an email from meetup.com talking about people becoming organizers for their meet up group.

  I've been a member of both the Ft.Worth & Dallas Meet-ups, they always had this stupid '5' person rule, you had to have that many confirmed or -- it would be canceled.

  Later, I think it went to 3, but now they want a fee for something that never worked to begin with.

  I further believe that the J.Ws were quite sincere in their belief as regards taking the gospel message out to the people.

  Ya' ever hear of the saying, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions?"

  Sincerity does not = correct or even nice...

  Are you at all familiar with the sincere JW practice of "shunning"?

  I am very familiar with it... ask me, I'll be sincere...

  Also, before you come here and start defending Witnesses, if you've never been one...ask yourself this sincere question: Why is it there are more internet support groups of all kinds for Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses...than any other "Ex-" anything ???????

  That's your homework for tonight...think about it. Look it up. Read all the stories of these kindly, sincere JW's...then come back and we'll talk, k ?

  my mother was out in pioneer service yesterday with another sister.

  their car was broadsided by another car, running a red light, drunken driving, and both women were tragically hurt.

  my mother sustained head injuries, and some other broken bones.

  I just saw this myself. I am so sorry for what you, your Mom & your Mom's friend and family are going thru. It's a true shame how many innocent people and their families are hurt so badly by someone choosing to drink and drive.

  Y'all certainly have my thoughts and prayers, I hope everyone gets the help they need and heal up well.

  IF this card does transpire to be "the mark of the beast" and you accept it, then you are bound for eternal hell that is a cert. I am sure the genuine J.Ws on this website will very much appreciate my concern in this matter.

  I gotta tell ya' something...1st of all Satan doesn't scare many of the x-jw's here. And 'eternal hell?", to a JW, it simply means death. hades, sheol...read Ecls. 9: 5-10 for their belief in the condition of the dead. No torture, no pitchforks.

  It may well be one of the very few things that the Witnesses got right, out of the Bible.

  Provided you swing that way.
